What is revelation?

Hi guys,

Firstly, Please excuse my Ignorance.

I'm doing a school project and have been poised with the question;

What is Revelation and why is it so important to Christians?

Now All I can think of is It's God's way of showing his will to Christians, I have come here to seek an accurate fulfilled answer to this question, as It will be in my exam and my teacher isn't very good.

I'm also genuinly interested

Well, the fact I'm not christian, may be the reason. I don't tend to read massive books that are really purposeless to me. No offence.

I'm not an "underachiever" I came to your church seeking advice.

Maybe I should go to a Buddha forum, seek some advice, generate some good Karma, and all that.

I fear that it might be too late for this one.

Instead of searching his soul, taking this opportunity that God provided with him - through his teacher and the requested assignment - to read the bible, to read about revelation and form a bond with our Saviour, he chose to look for the quick fix.

And here I was going to tell you how this book of prophecy describes the Antichrist as a man, in his 40's, of MUSLIM descent, who will deceive the nations with persuasive language, and have a MASSIVE Christ-like appeal.

The prophecy says that people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace, and when he is in power, will destroy everything . . .
