Ken Ham, founder and president of the Creation Museum and the long-running Answers in Genesis website, spent months negotiating with the Cincinnati Zoo to establish a joint marketing venture: Christians (and others) would receive a steep discount on a package deal of tickets to both attractions; this way, folks could have the zoo's displays and discussions of "evilution" put into Biblical context at the Creation Museum. Ham hoped this would help boost tourism between the two attractions, while preventing the faithful from being swayed from God's Holy Truth by the flashy signs and "evilution in action" graphics at the zoo.
How did that work out, you ask?
Upon announcing the opportunity for zoo visitors to learn about Jesus, the zoo received hundreds of irate calls, emails, and even threats from God-hating liberals -- you know, those who preach "tolerance" and "diversity" and "inclusion" -- shrieking their hatred of all things holy.
As one would expect (since all atheists are amoral), the Cincinnati Zoo walked away from their contract and threw out Christ after only two and a half days!
Says Ham,
We Christians must stick together, and demand a more tolerant nation. We are only 76% of the United States population; as such, we are the largest oppressed minority remaining since the United States liberated Iraqi Shiites from Sunni domination!
If you visited Cincinnati and made the wrong choice with your ticket dollars (zoo instead of Creation Museum), you'll be thrilled to know that cameras are allowed. Here is a link to a guided tour of the Creation Museum, as a very large photoset on Flickr!

Says Ham,
It's a pity that intolerant people have pushed for our expulsion simply because of our Christian faith. Some of their comments on blogs reveal great intolerance for anything having to do with Christianity.
No doubt, certain anti-Christians will claim Ham is exaggerating. Well, here we have some examples from just such a blog!Posted by: woodstein312 | November 30, 2008 11:47 PM
If the zoo is part of the public school system there, as you have indicated in the post, this also appears to be a clear cut violation of the constitutional separation of church and state. Somebody should sue the hell of these morons for even considering this kind of blatant endorsement of creationism. I would if it was my kid going to school there.
