Huh?
Yes, we’re wishing you a (slightly early, it's the 14th) Happy Darwin Day! To help get you in a festive mood, we’re sharing two great Darwin Day stories!
First, the new Zogby Poll.
In the last few years, the Darwinistas have really heated up their rhetoric. They claim thatCreationism Intelligent Design is “not scientific”. They believe that the majority of Americans are on their side, as you can see from the God-mockers who come to persecute us right here on this forum.
Nothing could be further from the truth!
In fact, over 78% of respondents in the latest Zogby poll believe that it is important to teach “both the evidence for and against Darwin’s theory”! This is up from 69%, back in 2006.
“Ah,” you say, “That just reflects a vast right-wing conspiracy of know-nothings and kooks, who just happen to make up the majority of the American population. That’s why those reactionary Republicans control the government.” Not so!
82% of Democrat respondents favored teaching “strengths and weaknesses”, while only 73% of Republicans did.
That’s right, more Democrats than Republicans think your kids need to learn aboutCreationism Intelligent Design instead of being indoctrinated into Darwinism.
How about age groups? Well, it’s not all “scary old folks” in favor of teaching both sides. In fact, in the 18-24 age group, exactly 0% of respondents thought it wise to teach evolution only!
Dr. Jon West of the Discovery Institute says,
Our second Darwin Day story?
Ever heard of New Scientist magazine? It’s a well-respected, anti-Christian publication catering to the self-congratulatory “scientific elite” and their wannabe fans from amongst the undereducated classes.

Is comment really necessary?
Not from me! Let’s quote well-known obnoxious atheist PZ Myers:

This represents a dramatic 9-point jump from 2006, when only 69% of respondents in a similar poll favored teaching both sides. At the same time, the number of likely voters who support teaching only the evidence that favors evolution dropped 7 points from 21% in 2006 to 14.4% in 2009.
We need to change Darwin Day toCreationist Academic Freedom Day because just when Darwinists are celebrating evolution’s triumph, this poll shows that they have been losing the public debate over whether students need to hear both sides. There appears to be a public backlash against the strong-arm tactics being employed by many Darwinists to intimidate scientists, teachers, and students who want to raise criticisms of Darwin’s theory.
Praise Jesus! And don’t forget, Brits are turning their backs on Darwinism, too!We need to change Darwin Day to

We’re already seeing that cover abused by Creationists who see it as a tool — a reputable popular science journal has declared Darwin to be wrong, therefore, once again, science must be in retreat! — and I expect we’re going to have to face the headache of many school board meetings where that cover is flaunted as evidence that students ought to be taught about how weak Darwinism is.
Right you are, Mr. Myers. Right you are.
