As a matter of fact, Pi=3.0 almost became law in Indiana. The bill passed the House easily and would have suceeded in the full legislature but for a parcel of snivveling, pussyfooting cowards who turned their cringing backs on God's Design. Their fear, you see, of the opinions of a few homo-nerds, mostly jooz, was greater than than their fear of the LORD, and if they are not loudly repenting that now, they soon will be!

Indeed, the Indiana Senate didn't even have the stones to vote on it; rather they hid it under the desk and hoped that it would go away, which it did.

The Bible for me, is a series of stories not meant to be taken as literally as it is written; making the Bible as mysterious in its text as the humans mind is to maintain faith and belief.

So the Bible is as accurate as that homer-manual "Curious George"? There is as much truth in the sex manual "Tao Te Wang" as in the Bible? Wow, that's a little ridiculous!

Since when is God "random"? I assure you, God is as accurate as a laser my friend. Never wrong, never random. He's not some sort of bath-house, homer-loving freak who can't make a straight decision to save his life, for crying out loud! It's not "a jumble of random numbers". It's 3. Three. Hi, your research seems interesting, but as a math student I have noticed that pi has never failed for me.
I do like your unique view on this, but to me Pi is a mystery in itself. A form of god-given chaos in its most wonderful form. No patterns, just a mezmerizing sequence of random numbers

I believe the Bible is as valid as the books written for believers of other faiths. Therefore making them all equal; since faith is a belief, I don't believe one religion is any more true than the next. The Bible for me, is a series of stories not meant to be taken as literally as it is written; making the Bible as mysterious in its text as the humans mind is to maintain faith and belief. So, I do not believe in a true meaning behind a books text that speaks of faith. Ones purpose (in faith) was to make of life what one believes is right and to live life along with his/her surroundings in a tranquil state.

I do however believe in a God, although in a different aspect. There is no religion for my belief. I want it to stay that way.

I do agree with you: Mathematics are too jumbly and crazy for most people's brains, but unfortunately one must understand the rhetoric of the enemy in order to properly defeat it. If it's not in the Bible, then I see no need to research it with any seriousness. To be perfectly honest I don't understand how I ever made it through "Understanding Secular Mathematics 792"!

Numbers are universal symbols dedicated towards understanding the secrets of the lives we live. The secret of life, however, in no amount of study or belief will ever be understood.

I however have no interest in major mathematical studies. They are nice to think about; how they work and how everything in a sense, seems to co-work but it's too much for my brain to handle.

Though, with further knowledge we draw closer towards advances in the mysteries that lie in the abyss.

Sorry my post wasn't more clear; I was trying to suggest that 3.0 is pretty close to 3.1, and that the 'close enoughs' should be happy with that and just accept that they're wrong.

What a fascinating thread!

It reminds me of something that happened to a neighbor of mine some years ago. As a good Christian, he home-schooled his children and in due course, they went off to a highly regarded, Christian university in Virginia to become good, Republican lawyers.

Well, it turned out that the university was perhaps lacking a little in it's Christian curriculum because there was a mandatory course in Godless Geometry.

Being a loving parent, my neighbor asked his youngest son, when he'd come home on Spring break, what he's learned thus far. "Well Dad," the boy replied, "we've been studying math and I have learned that to get the area of a circle you use the formula of; A equals Pi R Square."
