    Re: $250,000,000 Challenge to Germunists

Where would you even get this 250 million? lol yeah, I'll give you 2 trillion to disprove newton's law of motion, or any other current law, like the law of gravity.

You might as well admit the real reason -- there is no evidence to support the germ theory of disease. Sin theory of disease should be given equal time in tax-payer funded medical schools.

They don't even know the money is on the table. There is evidence to support the germ theory of disease, look under a microscope and see the living bacteria that replicate, respond to stimuli, and are an active species. If you want evidence to support the germ theory, just look it up in an encyclopedia.

It takes a large community of scientists dedicated to the theories respected field to even propose the basis of a belief to the basis of a theory; changing that theory to law requires even more, if not indisputable agreement amongst a body of individuals to change said theory to law. Your really grasping at straws wanting that here, on these boards.

Excuses, excuses. We all the real reason why Gemunists won't come on this forum; because they know their cult like disease theory is a theory in crises and they want to hide that from the public.

I'm already typing up some talking points for dealing with the enemies of intelligent healing.

First things first, I'm doing focus groups on which label is best: germmunists, microbigots, germunistas, al-Germa sympathizers, the Big Disinfectant Lobby, the Blame America for Disease Firsters, and al-germzerra.

  • $250,000,000 Challenge to Germ Theory Believers (Germunists)

I have a standing challenge of $250,000,000 to anyone who can give any empirical evidence for the Germ Theory of Disease.* My $250,000,000 challenge proves that the Germ Theory of Disease is nothing more than a religious belief.

    Observed Phenomena:

Most thinking people will agree that...
    1. Almost everyone suffers from at least one disease in their lifetime.
    2. The result of disease is either recovery (redemption), diminished quality of life (suffering), or death (destruction).
    3. Some diseases, such as influenza or measles, attack individuals who come in contact with others who have the disease (communicable).
    4. Some diseases, such as Huntingtons, Cystic fibrosis, or Tay-Sachs, attack decendents of infected individuals (hereditary).
    5. Some diseases, such as syphillous, addiction, AIDS, or Herpes, are strongly associated with lifestyles regarded as sinful by most of the world's religions (consequential).
    Known Options:

Choices on how the observed phenomena came into being...
    1. Disease is caused by actions of demons or punishment from God.
    2. Humans are infected by all diseases at all times, but symptoms manifest on their own timetable.
    3. Disease is caused by ubiquitous microorganisms, normally docile or even beneficial, who suddenly decide to go on a killing rampage, by purely natural processes (known as the Germ Theory of Disease) so that no appeal to the supernatual is needed.
Germ Theory has been acclaimed as being the only process capable of causing the observed phenomena.

Germ Theory is presented in our medical school textbooks as follows:
    1. The organism must be present in every case of the disease, but not in healthy individuals.
    2. The organism must be isolated from the host with the disease and grown in pure culture.
    3. The specific disease must be reproduced when a pure culture of the organism is inoculated into a healthy susceptible host.
    4. The organism must be recoverable from the experimentally infected host.
People believe in Germ Theory; they do not know that it is true. It is my contention that Germ Theory is a religious worldview that is not supported by science, Scripture, or common sense. The exclusive teaching of this dangerous, mind-altering philosophy in tax-supported medical schools is a clear violation of the First Amendment.

    How to collect the $250,000,000:

Prove beyond reasonable doubt that Germ theory (option 3 above, under "known options") is the only possible way the observed phenomena could have come into existence. Only empirical evidence is acceptable. Persons wishing to collect the $250,000,000 may submit their evidence in writing along with a nonrefundable $5000 processing fee. A committee of trained scientists will provide peer review of the evidence offered and, to the best of their ability, will be fair and honest in their evaluation and judgment as to the validity of the evidence presented.

If you are convinced that Germ Theory is an indisputable fact, may I suggest that you offer $250,000,000 for any evidence against Germ Theory. This might include the following:
    1. A disease not caused by an identified microorganism.
    2. An anecdote of someone cured through prayer.
    3. Scripture that shows God inflicting disease as punishment.
    My suggestion:

Proponents of the Germ Theory would do well to admit that they believe in the Germ Theory, but they do not know that it is fact. The should call Germ Theory their "faith" or "religion," and stop including it in books of medicine. Give up faith in the silly religion of Germ Theory, and trust the God of the Bible (who is the Creator of this universe and will be your Judge, and mine, one day soon) to forgive you and to save you from the coming judgment on man's sin.

    *NOTE:

When I use the term Germ Theory, I am not referring to the occasional weak correlation between a specific microorganism and a specific disease. I am referring to the general Germ Theory which believes that...
    1. An organism is present in every case of a disease, but never present in healthy individuals.
    2. It is possible to isolate the organism from the host and grow it in a pure culture.
    3. Introducing the cultured organism into a healthy individual will always cause the specified disease.
    4. The same organism can be recovered from the experimentally infected host.
    5. No disease has a supernatural cause.
Answers to Commonly Asked Questions about the $250,000,000 challenge:

Students in tax-supported medical schools are being taught that Germ Theory is a fact. We are convinced that Germ Theory is a religion masquerading as science and should not be part of any medical curriculum. It has nothing to do with the subject of medicine.

The following things are all taught as fact in medical text books:
    1. Microorganisms are ubiquitous. They are normally docile, or even beneficial.
    2. There is an occasional weak correlation between the presence of a specific microorganism and a specific disease.
    3. Sometimes microorganisms rebel and decide to become hostile. They do this on their own volition, and not because of demonic influence.
    4. All diseases are caused by a readily identifiable microorganism.
    5. There is no correlation between sin and disease.
Even a quick review of a typical medical text book are deceived into thinking all five of these concepts have been proven because evidence is given for the first two. The other three are smuggled in when no one is watching.

This deception is a classic case of bait and switch. One definition of Germ Theory is given and the others are assumed to be true by association. The last three concepts are believed by faith, have never been observed, and are religious. Only the first two are scientific.

Many have responded to my $250,000,000 challenge for scientific proof for Germ Theory. The terms and conditions of the challenge are detailed very clearly on our web site www.landoverbaptist.org. Here are some answers to some commonly asked questions.
    1. The challenge is as legitimate as God's offer of salvation. A wealthy church benefactor has the money in the bank. If the conditions of the challenge are met, the money will be paid out immediately. My word is good.
    2. The members of the committee of scientists that will judge the evidence are all highly trained, have advanced degrees in science as well as many years experience in their field. For example, there is a microbiologist, an endocrinologist, a virologist, and a doctor of medicine to name a few. They are busy people and do not wish to waste time on foolish responses, and this is why the $5000 nonrefundable processing fee is required. Nor do they wish to waste time arguing with skeptics and scoffers who seem to have nothing else to do than ask silly questions when they really don't want answers (so far this has been the typical response to the challenge). I will not reveal their names for this reason. Any legitimate evidence will be forwarded to them and they will respond. At that time they may identify themselves if they choose. The merit of the evidence presented and the reasonableness of their response does not depend on who they are.
    3. Evidence of a correlation between a specific microorganism and a specific disease does not qualify as evidence and will not be sent to the committee to waste their time. See the conditions of the $250,000,000 challenge on the web site. I understand that some people can carry microbes labeled as "pathogenic" and not be affected by the disease themselves -- hmmmmm, what is the precise definition of "pathogenic"? We could not digest our food without our friend Escherichia coli, but we are supposed to believe that this bacteria is also the sole cause of peritonitis? Escherichia coli is present in all humans, but only a few of us ever suffer from peritonitis. The honest medical scientist would be wise to admit that there is no evidence that could begin to prove that there is a causative relationship between Escherichia coli and peritonitis. He may believe that they are related but that is not science and that is my point in this challenge. Some believe that germ theory is true, but it should not be presented to innocent students as "fact". It certainly is not evidence that there is no correlation between sin and disease, or that the microbes were not corrupted by demons to do their bidding. Furthermore, Germ Theory doesn't even begin to address many diseases, such as sickle cell anemia, heroin addiction, or schizophrenia.
    4. We are concerned with diseases in fallen, sinful man -- not animals. For the purposes of this challenge all experimentally infected hosts must be human.
    5. The idea that the majority of medical scientists believe in the theory is not evidence. Majority opinion is often wrong and must be corrected. History is full of examples.
    6. Anonymous letters will be ignored.
    7. No evidence will be considered until your enclosed check has cleared.
Rather than simply sending in scientific evidence for Germ Theory, some have wasted lots of their time and mine sending letters demanding to know who is on the committee, what bank account the money is in, asking Bill Clinton type questions about the definition of words like "is", etc. When I do not respond the way they want me to they post notices on their web sites claiming that I owe them the money or that the challenge is a sham! It is obvious they are using the Red Herring tactic to draw attention away from the fact that they have no evidence to support the religion of Germunism. I tell everyone who inquires, if you have some evidence, send it in, don't beat around the bush. Give us the best you have on the first try please to save time.

Many have offered evidence of a correlation between a specific microorganism and a specific disease and assumed the other concepts are somehow magically connected. They don't seem to realize that they are blinded to the obvious. Treat the $250,000,000 challenge as a lawyer would treat a 'who-done-it' case. It is your job to prove that what is being taught to our medical students as fact (all of the concepts of Germ Theory above) is indeed a fact. If this cannot be done then it should be admitted that Germ Theory is a religion but not science.

Over the years I have heard many germunists say, "Germ theory is a theory like gravity is a theory. Don't you believe in gravity?" They repeat this mantra as if repetition will make it true. Their example is silly of course. We can all observe gravity every moment of our lives. If I drop a ball, it will always fall. However, If I have Escherichia coli in my colon, I may or may not get a case of peritonitis, and Germ Theory is powerless to predict whether I will acquire this disease. To try to make Germ Theory science by associating it with theories like gravity is ridiculous.

Nearly all responses to my $250,000,000 challenge go something like this: "Of course no one can prove Germ Theory, can you prove that sin causes disease?" This response is what I expected and wanted. Neither theory of disease can be proven. Both involve a great deal of faith in the unseen. So my next logical question is: "Why do I have to pay for the Germ Theory religion to be taught to all the students at tax supported medical schools?" Since all taxpayers are being forced to pay for Germ Theory to be taught exclusively in public medical schools and germunists have had the last 130 years and billions of dollars in research grants to prove their religion, the burden of proof is on them to supply proof of their theory.

I have taught for years that Germ Theory is nothing but a religion mixed in with real science. Many have been duped into believing in it. There's no evidence for it. It is time that intelligent people the world over began to admit that the king has no clothes! The Bible teaches that disease is caused by demon possession or Godly punishment for wickedness. This is all that has ever been observed. The same Bible teaches us that everyone will face the Creator one day to be judged for everything they have said, done, or thought. I recommend that everyone prepare for that day by taking advantage of God's mercy and forgiveness afforded through the free salvation offered to any who will confess their sin and receive Jesus Christ as their Lord. If you are interested in learning more about becoming a Christian, please contact our office to set up your tithing schedule.

This challenge is void where prohibited.

    Sincerely,
    Pastor Billy-Reuben
