Look, it is really simply. The earth is flat, the sun moves around the earth giving light to one part and darkness everywhere else.

The reason why the sun looks like it disappearing is because as things get further away, the closer together they look. Just like looking down train tracks. The tracks merge together.

Warmest greetings to you, my friend! I feel it's my obligation to point out to you that arguing about science with the people of this church is nothing short of foolish. There is no way you will change their minds with this method.

Instead, maybe you would like to join me in presenting a positive image to them. If we can show them the Light and the Love that could break their hearts free from the trap, it would have a stronger effect and then - maybe - they will start to accept basic scientific fact as well.
