Nobody here is arguing that the earth is not round. The Holy Bible is very clear that the earth is circular.

Isaiah 40:22
It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

While this verse is not entirely conclusive about whether the earth is a two-dimensional circle or a three-dimensional sphere, that matter is cleared up in the Book of Daniel.

Daniel 4:10-11
Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great.

The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:

It is not possible to see this tall tree from the ends of the earth if the earth is spherical. Thus, the round earth is illustrated to be a planar circle rather than a sphere.

It's not clearly said that the earth is flat, it's more symbolic, you just assumed that it is flat.
