Let's start with the idea that when you jump, you turn with the earth. That's foolishness right there. If I were to put a tape "X" on my floor, then jump, I'd land right there on that same tape "X" unless I purposefully jumped to the side. You could say it's because the earth moved with you, but that's a bit paranoid, don't you think? The earth is constantly following me so that when I jump I would never know that I had moved?

Okay, thanks for being more specific. An average human can jump about one to two feet in the air. Compared to a human, the Earth is massive, so one or two feet isn't enough to escape it's pull. You're looking at it backwards. The Earth doesn't move with you, you move with the Earth. Because the Earth is massive, and jumping can't pull you out of its' gravitational reach, you end up traveling at the same speed as when you were standing. Now, if the Earth were very small, it would move under your feet. In fact, if Earth was extremely small, you could leave its' gravitational pool just by jumping.

The reason the earth is spinning and you're still landing on the x is the same as if you jump verticaly in the bed of a pickup truck while going 60mp/h. You'll still land on the truck bed and won't faceplant on the highway. Simple physics that you should have learned in school.

The reason the earth is spinning and you're still landing on the x is the same as if you jump verticaly in the bed of a pickup truck while going 60mp/h. You'll still land on the truck bed and won't faceplant on the highway. Simple physics that you should have learned in school.

If you really believe that: stand on the bumper going 60 and jump straight up.

However the Earth is also spinning .It is the spin that would change your position as you land.
This sideways acceleration is called the Coriolis acceleration.

The Foucault pendulum proves this phenomenon.

Basically we are never at the same position in space as the earth continuously changes position in space.

The motion of the Earth relative to the Galaxy center is 250 km /sec.
We move at the same speed when sitting on the earth.

But because of the principle of relativity when we jump in the air we are still moving with the Earth in the direction of the earth's orbit

My excuse for the pickup truck exemple, I'll use an exemple easier to understand for your mind.

Try to jump inside a train while it's at full speed. See if you get splattered on a wall or if you moved very little from where you jumped.

But they aren't moving. In the video, the pen was being lifted upwards, and as the pen has a smaller mass, yet the same force, the acceleration must have been larger, but it wasn't, both accelerations were the same.

This doesn't prove anything, dear. People slip on the ice all the time, in all directions. And the picture you chose of a naked boy trying to push over a girl to rape her is wholly inappropriate for our family-friendly forums. You get it wrong, it pushes equally in the opposite direction.

Here's another exemples:

When standing on the ground, you exert a force on the ground [down] and the ground exerts a force [up] on you. [that's one force on the ground, one force on you]
But that's not all.
Through the effect we call gravity, the Earth is attracting you [down] and you are attracting the Earth [up]. [that's a second force on you and a second force on the Earth]

In that case all those forces have the same size, so both you and the Earth have a net force of zero - neither you nor the Earth moves.

If you alter your stance so that you are in a squat position, it is possible for you to activate your leg muscles and exert a greater force on the Earth [down] than in the case above. The Earth will of course exert a greater force [up] on you.

Gravity has not changed, so the attracting forces mentioned above have not got any bigger.

The force attracting you down is now smaller than the force pushing you up, so the UP force wins - you accelerate up.

Note: By the time your legs are straight, you will have gained some upward velocity and will thus continue to rise with your feet leaving the ground - you jump!!
Note Also: Once your feet leave the ground there is no upward force acting on you, so the remaining force (the attraction force [down] due to gravity) is now unopposed and first stops you rising [after a short distance] then brings you back to earth - where balance can again be achieved.
