The reason you can see them now is because a light year isn't a measurement of time, it's a measurement of speed. It doesn't take millions of years to see the stars, it's simply a measurement of how far away they are. We can see them from so far away because they're so large and so bright they're visible from even millions of light years away.

A small correction: A lightyear is a measurment of distance, not time. The reason why we use a lightyear as a measurment instead of miles or kilometers is that after a while we wouldn´t understand the numbers in miles.

Take our nearest neighouring solarsystem, Alpha Centauri: It´s 4.37 lightyears away, or 6.000.000.000.000 miles (6 trillion miles - 10 trillion kilometers). With modern tecnology, it would take us about 73 thousand years to get there.

But more interesting is a star (sun) 20 lightyears away, called Gliese 581. This is a multiplanet solarsystem, wiht Gliese 581g as the most interesting planet. Bacause it´s in the habitable zone of its star, and might therefor harbour life.

We will not be travelling there any time soon, but when we finally see this planet, Gliese 581g, it will be very interesting to know what secret it keeps.

That isn't what I learned in school.

A Light year is the distance that light travels in one year, therefore if something is a million light years away, it took a million years for that light to get here.

I still think it's full of bunk, but at least I know what I'm rejecting. You on the other hand have absolutely NO understanding of the subject, yet you're willing to fully and blindly accept what the scientists tell you.

The light isn't shining from anywhere near that far away. Science is insidious this way... the logic they use is fine and all but they're always basing things on ridiculous premises.

Light doesn't have a speed. It's not a thing and doesn't travel anywhere. It projects itself from a source and shines upon an object instantaneously. Anyone can see that. It's obvious! Except maybe to heathen scientists who have ulterior motives and will build on this one lie to create entire false narratives about the universe, some heresy called the big bang and more.

Give these Godless scientists no ground whatsoever, I say.

The projection of light isn't instantaneous. It's only nearly instantaneous. Say you were shining a flashlight onto a wall. The speed of light is the time it takes the beam of light to reach the wall from the flashlight. It may look like it gets there instantly, but that's only because of how fast the speed of light is. I mean, really. You're views are all prehistoric.

I suppose I should stop trying to educate you Christians, though, considering you're all too stubborn to listen.

Neither the Bible or the Big Bang has ever been proven. It´s all based on what YOU choose to belive. From my viewpoint, Big Bang would be closer to the truth than the Bible. Not "The Truth," merely closer to it...

But I find many things in the new testament of the Bible a good ethic. And I would offer my life for you, so you could practice your faith...

Sarah Palin is a good candidate because she is popular and can attract lots of voters. But, Sarah Palin is a dominionist, meaning she wants to replace the secular laws with the laws of the Bible. So surely, once she is president, she will appoint a man to be King of the USA and do away with the constitution.

God places women in power when a country is in shambles, in order for us to realize how horrible things have gotten. Just like he did in the book of Judges, with Deborah.

The Holy Bible has "been proven" a million times over. Every prophesy contained therein has come true. Countless godmockers and atheists have tried to tear God's Holy Word down (aided by satan), but not one of them have been successful.
