    This:
Fusion happens at the Sun's core. Hydrogen atoms are fused together into Helium, a process that creates a lot of heat and light... energy. This energy is transferred through space as radiation. Infrared, visible light, ultraviolet... the whole electromagnetic spectrum travels to us through the vacuum of space... when it strikes the Earth, the Earth reflects and absorbs certain percentages of certain wavelengths, giving us light, and conduction happens, giving us heat.

It's unbelievable the bald-faced lies that these so-called scientists tell. You can't stop light. Nobody can. However, if you are in really good standing with the Lord, you can use trumpets to stop the Sun from moving, giving you plenty of time to slaughter your enemies:

And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. Joshuah 10:13

The reason God made it stop for a whole day is that, if He had restarted the Sun halfway through the day, then the Sun would then have started rising at night, which would have looked ridiculous.

    And how fast it travels

PRÉCIS POSTED FOR PRENTAL INFORMATION ONLY
this is being taught as "science" these days
For one whole minute, light, which is usually the fastest thing in the known universe and travels at 300 million meters per second, was stopped dead still inside a crystal … Back in 1999, scientists slowed light down to just 17 meters per second, and then two years later the same research group stopped light entirely — but only for a few fractions of a second. Earlier this year, the Georgia Institute of Technology stopped light for 16 seconds — and now, the University of Darmstadt has stopped light for a whole minute.
It doesn't even travel in straight lines any more
    http://ab-initio.mit.edu/photons/bends.html
With photonic crystals, it is possible to create waveguides that permit 90 degree bends with 100% transmission. This phenomenon can be understood as the analogue of one-dimensional resonant tunnelling phenomena in quantum mechanics.
    JOHN 1
    1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
    KJV

But if these wrteches can prevent light from moving they prevent it from shining and darkness is all which remains. It is their stated intent to achieve that outcome. Melbourne is a particularly wretched city in this respect with public lectures at the Melbourne University School of Physics each Friday evening in July becoming ever more well attended. Rather than relying on hearsay accounts of what nonsense they're trying to rationalise it's available first hand and I am happy to provide updates for parents so that the full extent of God mockery in secular education may be communicated (where appropriate). So many today are considering careers in science and technology.

Daniel knew about real Science and God has preserved Daniel's witness as an inspiration. After all, not all science is false. God:
    DANIEL 1
    3
    And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes;
4 Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.
5 And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king.
6 Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:
    KJV .. context

Of course there is also the Greek inspired nonsense, science falsley so called to mock Jesus and lead so many into the pit, forever. It celebrates paradox, glories in the most dubious pronouncements and must have The Bible to be a deliberate lie. I always ask questions when I hear the nutters off on their latest excursion into these areas and it is important to point out error wherever it is encountered.
    ROMANS 10
    12
For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
    KJV

There is an alternative to ignorance, to lives of fear flailing in the night. The good news bringing release from that dark night is available to all who will accept it. But how can they accept reality if no-one is willing to tell them? Obviously I'm not about to start preaching but am happy to post Scripture and occasional updates re. what passes for education in the secular quagmire and trust that the information, such as it is, will open a window so the light may shine in.

I bet you there will be another change soon. Right now apparently the universe is made of
Up down top bottom strange charm quarks
    Electron muon tau neutrinos (leptons)
    Electron muon tau leptons.
Graviton w boson z boson photon gluon

But then... Along comes the Higgs boson, which was discovered recently.
Also the tetra quark was discovered under a year ago
Make up your mind, silly athiests. What exists, and what doesn't.

The same theory holds for if somebody were to watch a hydrogen bomb go off.

If the sun emits light, then it would follow that light has a speed of some sort (scientists like to say it's 186,000 miles per second). If light were actually traveling that fast, you wouldn't be able to walk outside without being riddled by tiny, light-sized holes and dying immediately. Even if light traveled slower than this, you would still obviously feel it as it hits you.

No, a much better explanation is that the sun works as God's light switch for turning up the ambient light on the Earth.

What has Egypt to do with the Sun? Everyone can see the Sun emits light! And the Bible never says the Sun does not give light man. You are making that up yourself.

Here's something off the internet: the symbol of "The Uniting Church In Australia"

The internet further says (and I've even gone outside with a laptop to do this):

The Uniting Church is a union of three churches: the Congregational Union of Australia, the Methodist Church of Australasia and the Presbyterian Church of Australia.

Their theology is rather suspect demonic, and they have chosen a black Aten (sun-disc) as a beacon of darkness or something.
Mr. Student's post [above] reminded me of this.
