"This is apparent in the fact that there are major divisions between Jews themselves. Specifically and most importantly, between teh Ashkenazim(those Jews who interbred with, and adopted the cultures of, Northern and Eastern Europeans and Russians), and the Sephardim(those Jews who went to Southern France, Italy, Spain, North Africa, the Mideast prior to the modern exodus). The two different types tend to look different - Ashkenazim looking like Europeans, the Sephardim looking like, well, Arabs and southern Europeans. And I'm sure many don't look like either. "
"There is much tension between the Sephardim and the Ashkenazim in Israel. Generally, Ashkenazim look down on the Sephardim as being lower-class and crude. During the 60s-80s it was feared by the Ashk. that the Sephardim would overwhelm Israel with what was perceived to be their cheap culture(just as white Americans tend to fear blacks). "
The Jews in Jerusalem look down upon the Sephardum. This is understandable. The ayrabs are sand nigras first and muslims second. It would seem that the Sephardum are sand nigras first and jews second.
Is my thinking flawed? Please feel free to contribute to this thread.
