I can't see what any of this has to do with the moon. Reason is relevant and I've already included Isaiah 1:18 where God encourages us to use reason to understand important aspects of the world He made. The Bible is our source for information in that case and does include details about the moon, referred to in OP.

The Bible teaches us that the Moon is a light, not a reflector, and it doesn't float around in space, it's stuck in the sky, which is a solid object called "the firmament"

You won't believe this but recently I came across two utterly ridiculous claims, one being that The Firmament is actually the earth's crust! That would mean that any moons attached to it would only be visible from "inside" (requiring the earth to be something like a tennis ball) or alternatively if we allow for a discus shape——just to accommodate this idiotic suggestion——a "crust embedded moon" could be poking up above the surface like this:

An even more ludicrous idea was that there are TWO FIRMAMENTS. One underneath our feet, one above our heads. And this from charlatans who claim to believe The Bible and appear to have read at least some of it but want God to fit in with their own model so they can sell books about cosmology which contradict God on this important subject. The Firmament is inelastic. Not a tenuous orb diminishing to infinity (another idea from "crust" proponents) and not a void.

We know the moon is set in The Firmament and clearly it's above our heads, not under our feet where people would trip over it or it might pop up at different places and topple people over, so I looked up the details here†

Genesis 1:14a; 17 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament ... And God set them in the firmament of the heaven

There is the cloud of smoke (universe) but the bubble (God) no longer exists. Such a God is NOT what's described in The Bible and anyone who disagrees really needs to show where their information is coming from. Whether you wear dungarees or a kilt, however, is completely irrelevant.

Let's take the moon's "phases." If you watch the moon a lot you will see that sometimes it is not there, sometimes it is all there, sometime half and so on. Why does this happen?

These "phases" are God sending coded messages to his favorite people. Those of us at Landover Baptist know what God is saying.

The point so often overlooked, not only in this thread, is that God's message is important. Not only important to us ——— but important to God. By explaining so much about the sky and the world He made, providing information only He could know, surely it's plain that He's fully aware of our deficiencies and making sure we can verify what He's provided? Not all at once, obviously; for example He told us [humans collectively -ed.] about sin, how it came into the world and the need for human blood to atone. Animals' blood, needing to be sprinkled on people repeatedly, was never sufficient.

Hebrews 9:13-14 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Our records of the sprinkling and of Christ and of the moon's creation and its location are all from the same source. They are equally reliable. God knew the sorts of ideas that COULD be concocted, indeed some of this "modern" stuff dates back two or three thousand years. It never got anywhere but was almost identical to what's been cooked up again now. Christianity came just in time to shut down those academies, making sure that nonsense stayed where it belonged.

The Bible is our source for what God wants and what He has done in the past. The moon is one way He offers signs for us but in these last days so few take notice and so many exploit ignorance (yes, astrologists, I'm looking at you and your ilk) fostering superstition for financial gain. It makes me sick.

Exodus 24:3-8 And Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD, and all the judgments ... And he sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen unto the LORD. And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basons; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar ...
