Read the Bible, boy.
The waters asswaged (Genesis 8:1), then the rain was restrained (Genesis 8:2), then they abated (Genesis 8:3), then they decreased (Genesis 8:5), and THEN the earth dried (Genesis 8:14).
Good grief, try reading some Scripture!

Genesis 8:1-3 "1 But God remembered Noah and all the beasts and all the cattle that were with him in the ark; and God caused a wind to pass over the earth, and the water subsided. 2 Also the fountains of the deep and the floodgates of the sky were closed, and the rain from the sky was restrained; 3 and the water receded steadily from the earth, and at the end of one hundred and fifty days the water decreased."
Took me all of 20 seconds to find that. You must know that Noah is in Genesis, so it might have taken you three minutes to skim through and locate it. Are you this lazy about everything?

Of course the Great Flood was there. All those lakes we have around the world clearly show that a flood occurred. Water can't just move itself inland and form a lake, that would be ridiculous.
