  • Useful educational tool for Christian astronomers

We know that planets exist because God has told us in the KJV1611.

    2 Kings 23:5
And he put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah, and in the places round about Jerusalem; them also that burned incense unto Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host of heaven.

Secular science lies to our children and says that the Sun is at the center of our 'solar system' and has come up with a model of the Earth rotating around the Sun. Of course common sense tells us this is ludicrous but more importantly God tells us that the Earth is fixed.

Psalm 93:1 The Lord reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the Lord is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.

Any so called Christian that thinks the Earth orbits anything is spitting directly in His divine face. However we do have a problem, sometimes the planets appear to go back on themselves. I have found this model online that explains this retrograde motion. It's animated and you can adjust the perimeters. My son Zebida has been playing with it all morning and is using it for the basis for his physics project.

It's not perfect. For some reason the Earth is very small where obviously it is much larger than the other bodies within the firmament. But it is a reasonable educational tool to explain to children the motion of the planets and the Sun within the dome of the firmament.

    I hope it's useful,

I know God wouldn't let me believe in Him if He didn't exist.
