You are mistaking the hatred many people have for the hypocrisy of your religion as hatred of a God. As with most religious folks, you can't distinguish your faith/religion from the being that is a God. An atheist knows there is no God and as such there is nothing to hate. The motivation the idea of a god creates in people is what is hated.

We also can easily hate the idiotic religious fanatics who spread misery wherever they go. Who is harassing whom? Religious nutters are the ones that are always condemning atheists to hell, and saying they should be eliminated, etc. So much for being "loving, forgiving, and non-judgmental." Nice try at deflecting the hatred and contempt that you (and others like you) have earned for yourselves by ignorantly trying to force your ridiculous bronze age goat herder beliefs on modern society.

We don't hate imaginary characters in your book of fairy tales...but most of us have learned to despise the resultant consequences to society, culture and personal freedoms. Sufficient reason to speak out against it when the opportunity arises.

Take some personal responsibility for the damage you've supported and helped to create, and it will all make sense. Or do what you always do...blame everything on your imaginary friend. It has to be good for something, after all.

You hypocrites make decent people very sad. Atheists are decent people too. Just because we don't believe in your fairy tale doesn't make us sad.

If the bible is not a work of fiction, where are the talking snakes or the zombies? Is food still falling from the sky?Am i to presume the world is still flat and that all humans descended from one couple?Read it and then try to tell yourself that it is not a vile, pornographic and murderous work of fiction with an imaginary hero. Fiction, they are just myths stolen from older religions. Go to books.google.com and download Bible Myths and Their Parallels In Other Religions, by TW Doane, It was used in Harvard Seminary, and explains the origins of the myths very well. People believe in the bible because most were indoctrinated into the belief by their families and thats what they are told to believe. People don't need the bible to teach them how to be good, loving, decent human beings.

Nothing can prove either because there obviously are no gods and the Bible is just a heavily edited and anonymously written book of myths, with a little local news thrown in for good measure. Deists are always trying to use twisted 'logic' like this to back up their impossible claims but nobody's buying any of it.

As for "many first hand in person accounts that are in the Bible", and Harry Potter gives his first hand in person account of his battles with Lord Voldemort. Also Dr. Watson gives his first hand in person account of his and Sherlock Homes' battles with Moriarty. There are stories claiming first hand in person accounts. If I write "10.000 people saw the mermaids today. " it doesn't make it true. Please take your time and try to be both accurate and funny. The funny thing isn't working for you and the inaccuracy and poor grammar give away your ignorance.
Typical, resorting to ad hominem attacks. You God haters are all alike. Smug in you false beliefs until Judgment Day(c) when you'll be crying like a baby, begging Jesus to forgive your ignorance. A word to the wise friend, it will be too late.

But unicorns DO exist (according to the Bible):

    Numbers 23:22, Numbers 24:8, Job 39:9, Job 39:10, Psalm 29:6 and Psalm 92:10.

Why would God mention them if they don't exist?

It is impossible to prove that something imaginary does not exist. It's like trying to prove that unicorns don't exist. In order to prove something you have to be able to collect data, if you can't collect data there is nothing to prove. Let's take unicorns. I must be able to collect data about them if I was to prove they didn't exist, since I can't see them, smell them, collect poop or find any tracks that they leave I can't prove that they don't exists that is why religious people like you keep ignoring the fact that the burden of proof is on you. If I create an imaginary creature that I call Zezima, I can't ask you to prove to me that it does not exist since that would be impossible for you to accomplish. I would have to prove to you that it does exist, not the other way around. I can't ask you to take my word for it since you never have seen any of this creatures. Basically you are asking for an impossibility.

If there is sufficient, positive evidence of observations, experimentation, testing etc. of the things that is written down in a book that would be better. However, the Bible has nothing of such evidence. It's only based on faith. You think it's okay to believe something on faith, but I don't, and evidently you're admitting that you cannot demonstrate the truth and reality of your God to anyone else.
