When one thinks of Easter dinner one automatically thinks of double bacon wrapped pork loaf, honey baked ham and deviled eggs.

This year to be a little different instead of a best cake contest, I thought we'd have a best deviled egg contest!

This is my submission (aren't they adorable!)




The winner will receive this gorgeous Easter bonnet from Betty's Sue's Bonnet Barn located in the Glory Hole Shoppette.



Anyone caught trying to bribe Pastor Pistle with homemade pies, etc, this year will be immediately disqualified (you know who you are ).

I'm very particular about my deviled eggs. I only like them the way mom made them. They must be made with real mayonnaise, not the low-fat stuff. If the filling is too hard it means you didn't use enough mayo. Please don't substitute chili powder or cayenne pepper for paprika. It makes a difference.

This year I am going to enter a secret recipe. I have no doubt that it will win first place. Be prepared.

Brothers, I don't want to taint the jury here, but I've just got to tell you that sister Thumper brought over the most delicious plate of deviled eggs this pastor has ever had. I won't give away all of her secrets, but I'll tel you this much; that Baconnaise is truly a gift from God!

And if the Landover children got too used to this practice, might they not go after the chickens in the yard?

Well, they could still be of use. Hold the contest at Brother Nobar's abode. His problems with the neighbor's poultry might just come to an end. I'm not saying to do this, of course. Just sort of thinking out loud...

Oh! I'm going to enter my special recipe.
(hint)....The mayonaise blend has a tasty little extra. LARD!
I used to make them all the time for Mr. Roberts Uncle Rob. He really loved those deviled eggs. He said they were heavenly.
The poor dear is no doubt eating them in heaven now. He suffered a massive heart attack while finishing off the second dozen last Easter.

Those horrid little four-eyed devils are not fit for a TRUE CHRISTIAN(TM) table. They are like little 'Chuckie' eggs. One expects them to jump off the plate and attack at any second! For once I agree completely with Mistress Wolfbane.

I'm a bit leary about anything with the Devil's name in it. I think we might need to come up with a TC name for Deviled Eggs. Perhaps we can call them hard boiled eggs with the yoke all mixed up with mayonaisse and relish?
