  • Goodbye Catholic Jesus Statue

Great news is coming out of South Carolina. Ten years ago some misguided members of a Baptist church there commissioned a carving of Jesus. They put the carving on display.

As the years passed, the church realized the artist had betrayed them. He had carved a Catholic Jesus instead a real one such as a Baptist would carve.

This past week the congregation wisely voted to get rid of this Catholic eyesore. We at Landover Baptist need to watch closely for art that slips in the heretical Catholic message in place of our own:

A Baptist church in South Carolina says it will give the hand-carved statue of Jesus Christ that the congregation deemed too Catholic to another church.

Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

You might say I've been "triggered" and offended by a number of things here - starting with the obsequious and groveling attitude displayed by this "Baptist" church's Pastor. All this PR nonsense about not wanting to "offend" anyone of other denominations and faith is disgusting.

While they wouldn't come right out and say what the congregation had trouble with, I detect that if you look closely at the pictures you will find what appear to be nail holes in the depicted appendages of Jesus. This is definitely offensive to True Christians™ of the Baptist faith because Jesus has risen - He only died temporarily for our sins and is still alive.

Sure, this church could sell this statue to the cathylicks but who would want their filth lucre - not to mention misleading others into an eternity in the Lake of Fire. They should just burn it and sue the artist.

      I noticed
Religions have been divided over religious iconography for more than 500 years as artists adorned buildings with elaborate stained glass windows, paintings, and statues, said David Fink, assistant professor of religion at Furman University.
More than 500 years? More than 5,000 years! A millennium more!! God has denounced idols, defined what they are, what constitutes worship of idols, the things have been accumulating for as long as there's been heathens or pagans or animists or savage fetish worshippers of which there have been and remains thousands of millions across all nations for thousands of years all mocking God as hard as they can go handed down across the generations from Cain to CAIR and their papist buddies. Satan is their "god" and although they probably squabble among themselves about which idol isn't really an idol or which idol has the more magic toes there is no division among Christians, none of whom would ever consider idolatry even for a moment! Let alone have one made!! And call themselves Baptists?

Someone must have spiked their water supply.
