Tips on Evangelizing the Modern Heathen

Friends in Christ, we are all saddened to hear of fellow missionary John Chau's martyrdom. His last known words were, "My name is John, I love you and Jesus loves you!"

Although, technically his last words were repeats of the pagans' words, followed by their laughter. I imagine it was something like:
Heathens: "Get away from our island! We will kill you with our arrows!"
John Chau: "Get away from our island! We will kill you with our arrows!"
    Heathens: Laughter
    Arrows: twang
    John Chau: gurgle gurgle

...It doesn't have to be this way.

Anyway, Chau called the Sentinel Islands Satan's Last Stronghold. I don't know that I quite agree with that. I think the elite coasts and a few troubled places in the heartland of the United States just may be Satan's Last Stronghold. I say that because despite the strong Christian roots of our great society, many people on these ends have not heard the Good News because the atheists and the homosexuals censor their information. In California it's illegal to talk about Jesus outside church and in Oregon, they'll blow weed smoke in your face if you carry a Bible in public.

So I think we would do well to understand our own land and peoples as being lost and in need of guidance. I've compiled a few tactics we here at Landover Baptist Church have found to be ever so successful when out and about. I share them in love with the hopes that those who live among the heathen can find better and better ways to share the Good News!
    • Think of your neighborhood as the Spiritual New World (Matthew 28:16-20) The inhabitants have never seen nor heard of our Great Messiah with the Glowing Locks and Steely Blue Eyes that Pierce Your Soul before. Any conversation is a good time to plant the flag and draw as much attention as possible. This is especially important in elementary schools, doctor's offices, the DMV, etc.
    • Tell the natives you are worried about them (Psalm 14:1) Share with them how bad they look, how angry they seem, how empty their lives are. They have been living with such loss for so long they think it's normal. Invite them to ask you questions about your faith and if they don't, go right ahead and introduce them to Christ. Assure them that while they cannot see or hear or touch or feel Him, you know He is standing right there at your side. You know because you know that you know.
    • Don't give them the chance to defend their beliefs (2 Corinthians 10:5) They are culturally indoctrinated, brainwashed if you will, and are only solidifying their beliefs to themselves when they do this. It's the mark of immaturity, like Hanna Swanson still playing with dolls and will tell you her latest storyline if you ask. Hanna just celebrated her 42nd birthday and if she had been found in the pool just 30 seconds sooner she would have grown up like a normal lady. This is what atheists are like mentally and emotionally. You don't do them any favors by letting them babble on. They can't grow when stuck in a mental and emotional loop.
Don't let them lump you in with those Christians who are an embarrassment to Christ (Matthew 7:15) This is another defense mechanism and falls short when you show them they are attacking false Christians. Remind them they don't hate Christians or Christianity, they hate false Christians and a false facsimile of Christianity.
    • Talk about how the LORD works in your life (Psalms 96:3) If they don't believe you, share another story, and another and another. Don't give up because you don't know which seed just might take root. Continue to talk about your Walk with Christ and let the Holy Spirit do the rest.
    • Judge them (2nd Timothy 4:2) Shame is a grand tool sanctioned by Jesus Christ Almighty Himself. It encourages sinners to face their actions and subsequently feel humiliated. Contriteness and repentance aren't far behind!
    • Remember this is the most courageous thing you can do! (Matthew 5:10) Christians in the US are the most persecuted group in world history and you run the risk of ridicule, anger, or even being disinvited to Thanksgiving Dinner with extended family. But great are the rewards!
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Re: Tips on Evangelizing the Modern Heathen

As far as I know, Sister, the Summer Institute of Linguistics has not yet gotten around to translating God's Holy Word into Sentinelese. Now this may be mere carelessness on their part, or it may be because only about 150 people speak the language. Or I suppose it might be because the language has no written form. Who knows, or even cares? I suspect there would be very little point in the SIL going to the expense of recording it on CDs, as these savages probably don't have electricity either.

Anyway, if there are only 150 of them they must by now be inbred almost to Kentucky levels and way beyond help. Mr Chow must have known he was on a hiding to nothing. Had God wished them to be Saved, He would not have brought them so close to extinction.
Vaccinated by the love of Jesus!!!

Thank you, Sister Mary for that helpful post. We here at Landover Baptist carry a heavy responsibility to enlighten those in our society who are just not bright enough to grasp the truth. I like especially your advise of not letting atheists talk. Our practice here at Landover is to loudly talk over the atheist so he or she never gets a chance to preach their Satanic garbage.
That's the way we win souls.
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

Re: Tips on Evangelizing the Modern Heathen

What's needed is a string powered CD player. There's already a string (and bucket) powered radio so with some of those creepers they use for swinging between trees replacing the string and a CD player substituted for the radio a solution is right there, just needing some funding.

        Haggai 2:8
The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.

When we read all that God was able to discuss with Adam and compare the minute vocabularies of undiscovered tribes (once they've been discovered) we get some idea just how much they've degenerated. One solution could be The Gospel in mime. The latest VR suites are quite sophisticated and I'm sure the young adults would benefit from developing IT skills in a Christian environment or even adapting the string & bucket technology to a Virtual Reality headset.

By attaching a swing seat to one end of the string or creeper and finding a suitably tall tree the islanders could take turns (as depicted) and see just how much Jesus cared for them in vivid mime. Can there be any doubt that catholics are making efforts to contact these people and sell them idols? Satan's objective however is not restricted to idols or pope-soap-on-a-rope and holy water. He wants to inoculate all of them against ever hearing the Good News at all. Popes and cardinals are a good start in that respect and we know how they've duped the Indians previously with their Mother Teresa scam. The clockwork mechanism and dynamo are hidden detail in the headset as illustrated.

I have a mannequin available which I'd be happy to donate and if anyone's able to provide a plastic tree to demonstrate the rope/swing/dynamo set-up it could all be attached to a table top and parachuted down. How could they fail to see what was intended? Even by natural curiosity someone's bound to try it out! They don't need to know how it works, language is unnecessary and the message of Salvation would reach them at last.
