    Stop the Environmentalist Cult

    God gave us farm chemicals to stamp out bugs and kill weeds. The cult of environmentalism is trying to introduce farming methods that don't use chemicals and are contrary to God's plan.

    The latest one, which has me really mad, is to plant flowers in corn and soybean fields. Farmers around Freehold here in Iowa have been pouring on chemicals for decades. Yields are high. Food at the grocery story is cheap. Why not protect the big chemical industries and keep pouring them on?

    This latest environmental "theory" is the craziest yet. These liberal pickos think that flowers will attract predators of bugs that attack corn and soybean plants. They pretend "good" bugs will eat "bad" ones.

    That makes no sense. Kill them all with an airplane crop duster and be done with it. Sure, some of them develop resistance to the chemicals but new chemicals can be invented.

    Is there nothing these people won't interfere with? If I want to make a lemon poppyseed cake I'll add my own poppy seeds, thank you very much! I don't want them already included in the flour, or all my cakes and bread and pastries will taste of poppy seeds. And that, Brothers and Sisters, is a recipe (if you'll excuse the pun) for marital discord.

        Oh, I do thank you so much for bringing up this timely topic, dear Brother Mayor Hold. It's been a pet peeve of mine for quite some time now. It seems that these environ-mental types are all set up by various LIE-beral groups -- the same people who rant about being "politically correct" (usually Demonrat supporters.)

        And, that sort of planting goes against the instruction of the Almighty, as so clearly outlined in the :

        Deuteronomy 22:9 "Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers seeds: lest the fruit of thy seed which thou hast sown, and the fruit of thy vineyard, be defiled."

        And, yes, I know some readers might say that that verse pertains to vineyards and not to corn. But we wouldn't plant a rose garden amongst the vines, so why should it be different for corn and beans?

        Now, I will admit that the poppies and cornflowers in that field do look rather pretty, but they have no business being mixed in with corn or other vegetables. Goodness gracious, what's next here? It will be a very frosty day in when I will allow corn to be planted in the midst of my prize-winning dahlias!

            We have had nothing but problems in Texas since this environmental craze took hold. Laws have been passed in every city making it illegal to pour used motor oil in the storm drains. I've never heard something so ridiculous in my life. Now my man can't change the oil for want of a place to put the old oil and I have to go to one of those oil change places where they rob me. They say it's because their oil is synthetic. That is absurd. Why do these places make false oil when there is so much to be had honestly in the Earth?

                I agree, Brother Moss. Environmentalists don't seem to know anything. Are they aware oil comes from THE EARTH? Returning it to the earth is good stewardship of the earth.

                  So let me get this straight - we're expected to believe that bugs that hang around flowers (and probably are gay) will go out and kill bugs that eat corn and soy beans?

                    Their theory is laughable. The only thing that will kill a "bad" bug is a "good" bug with a gun. Or chemical devastation of all the bugs, as you say.

                      I don't buy it either. Obviously the flower-loving bugs will go over and have gay sex with the soy boy bugs, not kill them.

                        Those bugs will be vegetarians, if not actual vegans . So unless you think bug wars exist, in which case you've probably been brainwashed by too much children's TV, answer me this: why would they kill them?

                        I would Google "genocidal bugs" but if I did then my husband would, quite rightly, punish me when he checked my search history.
