William "Bill" Melvin Hicks was an American comedy artist born in the State of Georgia in 1961. He gained some early success by using other people's material then settled into a niche as a traveling "joke blower". He specialized in long-winded d*ck jokes interspersed with drunken tirades at the audience for their lack of laughter.
Somehow, during the other 23 hours of his day, Mr. Hicks found time to consume Biblical quantities of drugs and boasted on stage about meeting Jesus and seeing UFOs whilst on drugs. Despite this resource of material to draw upon, he - like UFOs - only ever appeared in front of handfuls of hillbillies in small Southern towns including Possum Ridge, AK and The Comedy Pouch, Fife, AL.
Compared to his contemporaries - Jay Leno, Carrot Top and Denis Leary, who wrote hilarious material on smoking cigarettes, Bill Hicks made far less money as a reflection of the lesser velocity of his joke blowing. At the age of 32, he died of cancer. His own fault for smoking cigarettes. Others say it may have been retribution for referring to God as a prankster God that buried dinosaur fossils to test our faith. His filthy tirades on a manner of topics offended people's sensibilities and most probably Jesus just decided to call time - who really knows.
On his death bed, Bill accepted Jesus as his savior and now sits at His side in heaven, proving that bad guys can win too if they time it right.
