  • Ignore the Summer Solstice. It's Pagan

We at Landover Baptist Church need to remember there are sharks circling out there trying to pick off Christians with false doctrine. One group we thought we had defeated, the Pagans, are back with their wily tricks. They are having celebrations of the Summer Solstice implying this has some spiritual meaning. Pox on them.

What we need to do is refuse to acknowledge anything about the Summer Solstice. Jesus did not authorize any celebrations--the entire matter is a Pagan hoax.

Wiccan celebration of summer solstice is reminder that change is inevitable (religionnews.com)

"Solatices" and "equinoxes" are fake news. The Bible doesn't mention them, and the idea that the Earth orbits the Sun in an ellipse is more nonsense invented by the Catholic church in the form of the evil monk Nicholas Copernicus which has been picked up by the same scientific conspiracy that promotes evolution and COVID vaccines.

The simple truth is that the Sun orbits the Earth in a perfect circle. God, knowing that we would have more to do in the Summer than in the Winter because of agriculture, made the seasons work by speeding the Sun up in the Winter and slowing it down in the Summer as it orbits the Earth. Any notion to the contrary is of the Devil.

I don't celebrate the Summer Solstice. Instead I celebrate St. John the Baptist.

Thank you, Brother Dnow. Anyone can see God slows up the sun's travel speed during the summer and speeds it up during Winter. As you say, He does this so we will have enough food. Whatever explanation atheists and Pagans have will not change the facts.

Padre, if I may make a suggestion, the Godless pagans of Britain (probably about 237 in total, all unwashed) will be celebrating the summer solstice from tomorrow, June 18th, until Tuesday 21st. No, I don't know why it takes three days. However ...

I know you Eyeties are famously workshy. Have you considered combining the two Godless festivities? You could drag it out until the Friday and have a whole week off!

Everybody should celebrate John the Baptist. After all, he was the first person to recognize Jesus's divinity (when he was a fetus, no less--see below), and he founded the Baptist church! After Landover's own Pastor Ezekiel and Jesus himself, and maybe Paul, John the Baptist is the best and most important preacher in history. But you Catholics take it too far by praying to him.

At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, where she entered Zechariah’s home and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!” Luke 1:39-56

                Sir,

While I welcome you, I must caution you to make sure you introduce yourself in the Introduction thread. It will make your visit here much better in the long run. Who you are, Where you are from, What Church you attend, How you came to find Jesus, and your favorite Bible Verse would be a very good start!
