So what you're telling me is, you hate the band I love and everybody that likes that band, but you'd still save my life? Sugar, that counts as tolerance.
Now if we could all just extend this to the band itself and combine it with something called research, we'd make a lot more progress.

Hahahahahahahahahaha you people make me laugh! You sit there and try to take the moral high ground and attempt to send an innocent man to jail for a song, yet at the same time promote hatred and intolerance? You extremists are the most ignorant people I have ever seen. Obviously you never considered what the songs you hate so much mean, or why they were written. You didn't, did you? Because you'd rather wish death on us than show some tolerance. Some "Christians" you are. For your information, it was written simply to vent against bullies, much like how you're probably all going to vent at me about "going to hell" and all that garbage. It was not written to "inspire murder" or any of that crap you're spewing, unlike you people who incite unjust punishment and violence. If kids go out and shoot their classmates, it has nothing to do with music and everything to do with bullying, period. If you're going to speak out against something, speak against that, rather than persecute a musician-- a great musician by the way, whom it just so happens helped to save millions of lives, including mine.

I have all the respect in the world for everyone's choice when it comes to matters of faith. I totally support your freedom to express your beliefs!

One tiny little nit-pick is the use of misinformation and false logic. If you feel there is a cause which needs to be addressed, you should do a bit of solid research and fact checking first! People will take you super seriously then!

One of the brethren posted a wee bit of a logical fallacy using a syllogism that unfortunately makes the speaker appear to have not thought an argument through. Let me use an example here:

The band, My Chemical Romance, plays songs about murder.
Murders occur.
Therefore, the band's songs cause murder.

Well now, that's a wee bit general and inconclusive!

I have a pine tree in my front yard.
I have never seen a moose in my yard.
Pine trees keep moose away.

Haha! That's just downright silly!

But this is a serious topic, so I won't be silly any more. The urge to harm others, or yourself, stems from an unbalanced mind, or perhaps one who has never learned what it feels to be loved. Sadly, there are so many unbalanced people that cause hurt to other families. I cannot feel convinced, however, that listening to a particular band caused murders.

What of murders and mass killings that have occurred throughout history before radios and CD players? The music the soldiers in the crusades heard were Christian hymns and they slaughtered countless innocents.

Do Christian hymns evoke a desire to kill?

Yes, I am a fan of My Chemical Romance and the others I am acquainted with who also like the band are very much like myself; kind, funny, generous people who feel strength and happiness through the music.

No, brother, I have not. I believe, although God may see them as unchangeable wretches from birth, he believes that the goodwill of his True Christian followers may change it, if we so wish to attempt it. Of course, the Lord may make that task very difficult, but if we try, a few souls could be saved. I am certainly willing.

I do not want these young lives threatened. The words you say may hurt them enough to take their own lives. They may take the words to heart, and be fearful and sad that they are not on our Lord's good side, and take their own life, for they may be afraid that they can NEVER be saved.

Save them, for they are young and still soft as clay. Mold them properly before they reach the kiln, and the eternal afterlife in Heaven may truly become theirs if they so wish.
