I think you and I both know that it does not matter if wrote this on the piece of paper or if my Baptist friend wrote the same thing or if we dug it out of the ground. The fact is, it also claims to be the Word of God, and I need reason to believe that it is not. For, just as the Bible, it makes the same claim? Perhaps we should include it? How do we know we should not? Does the Bible tell you what is Inspired Scripture?

Every other argument you could ever present is utterly futile unless you can defend the very basis of your religion, Sola Scriptura.

If you had the ability to read above a 5th grade level, I can assure you those articles would hardly take the rest of your life. I see this is a common tactic you use: we give you answers, you say you are too dumb and lazy for said answers and so say we are wrong.

Let me restate my question; since by your logic The Bible is meaningless why is the chief pagan priest of Rome suddenly the head of the Christian Church? Beyond Emperor Constantine said so when he moved the capital of the Roman empire to Byzantium.

Outside sources of reference are of a higher authority. In other words, the outside source claiming an autobiography is authentic is of more authority than the autobiography alone.

Same goes for the Atlantis manuscript. Another document which vouched for it has more authority than the manuscript. On the other hand, you can have lower authority as well..."My neighbor Dave said that...".

For every claim, you have to back it up with a higher authority. If your neighbor Dave made a claim about heart disease, you might not be inclined to believe him. But if the Surgeon General made a claim, you would.

Now, since Scripture is the Word of God® and the highest authority there is, there can't be anything higher in authority outside of it to vouch for it. All that can be is lower authority (testimonies, etc.).

This however does not dissolve the paradox established by my little piece of paper, which also claims to be the Word of God.

But this is a fair argument... however, I would disagree that the Authority must be supreme. Why can it not be the Word of God as well? Why can Sacred Tradition also not be the True Word? Is there a "god-breathed" table of contents? No. We do not know that the Bible is the COMPLETE Word of God.

I agree. The Bible must be the Word of God. But not simply because the Word of God itself claims to be the Word of God, as otherwise we have no bounds for which to limit our religion.

Whether you know and accept it or not, it was the authority of the Catholic Church that raised scripture to that level. The Church held it at that level because of Apostolic Tradition and Authority.

And it was through the work of men (Guided by the HS) that Scripture was defined and established. And the men that God chose to work through was indeed, The Roman Catholic Church.

However, because we have to recognize the fact that we simply cannot accept the authority of scripture simply because scripture says to, we must also by default accept the authority of whatever declared scripture to be authoritative.

Even if you would like to argue that it is not the Catholic Church that gives authority to scripture, can we agree that some other factor must be involved to remove the paradox?

Are you ever remotely aware that the KJV1611 is based on a 9th Century Bible found in a Greek Orthodox monastery and your Catholic New Jerusalem Bible is based on a another (false) 6th century manuscript found at St Catherine's Monetary at Mt Sinai?

Good going guy; you just made the Greek Orthodox Church the arbitrator of what is scripture. But I forget, you are ignorant of any of those pesky pre-Catholic Christian traditions
