I was reading the KJV 1611 and it occurred to me that the words Atheist and Theist are not in the Bible. Does that mean we should not call ourselves Theists and Atheists should just be called unbelieving hellbound sinners? I believe we should only use Biblical terms not highfalutin theological or philisophical terms. What do you folks think?

Re: Do Atheists or Theists Really Exist?
Psalm 14:1 clearly labels an atheistic as "Fool". However, since "fool" now has many different colloquial meanings, we have to be a little more specific in our terminology. And I think "unbelieving hellbound sinners" is a little too broad, as that basically cover's anyone not a True Christian ™.Originally posted by Billy Ram View PostI was reading the KJV 1611 and it occurred to me that the words Atheist and Theist are not in the Bible. As for theists, I think you mean "Deist". I don't think there are really enough Deists around tho to bother coining a special phrase for them._

An Atheist wouldn't believe that they themselves even exist would they?Originally posted by Billy Ram View PostI was reading the KJV 1611 and it occurred to me that the words Atheist and Theist are not in the Bible. Re: Do Atheists or Theists Really Exist?
I see your point but I'm still leery of all this high minded theological talk. We should refer to these so-called "Atheists" as fools. A "Deist" differs from a "Theist" in that they do not believe in the Holy Bible, so they too should be called fools.Originally posted by David (not a Jew) View PostPsalm 14:1 clearly labels an atheistic as "Fool". Re: Do Atheists or Theists Really Exist?
I don't call myself a "theist". I call myself a blood-bought Christian.
I don't think "theist" is a useful term. Taking people who believe in and serve the one true God and lumping them into one group that consists of all sorts of kooks who believe in fake gods, idols, or demons doesn't make a lick of sense.
I prefer the terms saved and unsaved.
Pastor Billy-ReubenUpon request I will cite scripture for all these facts in God's Holy Word.
✝ This is a Christian community and we worship GOD of the Holy bible, the only Living GOD. We worship Jesus Christ, Son of GOD and Savior. Anything else is absurd. ✝
