If you had bothered to look, you would see that a wonderful thread on this very subject has already been started. Take a look at THIS!

Beautiful signature. Did you compose it or is it a quote from a song or a poem?

Mrs. Debbie, one of our friends over at Teens-4-Christ, explains it a lot better than I can.

"All of the rock, etc., has the basic drum beat that is used by the Satan-worshipping tribes of Africa. If you were to study it out you would realize it. Did you know that "rock and roll" got its beginnings from the black African culture? THAT is how the beat was introduced into our current ungodly music - "Christian" rock included.

When Moses and Aaron were on Mt. Sinaii they heard what sounded like war in the camp. Turned out it was "music" - a "music" that typified idol worship - something that was totally against the music they knew as godly. When they came down and saw what was going on they were appalled to see the people dancing sensually in all manner of undress. Where did the people learn of this music? In Egypt when they were in captivity! Hmmm....and where exactly is Egypt?? Wonder of wonders - Africa."

    Exodus 32:18-20

18And he said, It is not the voice of them that shout for mastery, neither is it the voice of them that cry for being overcome: but the noise of them that sing do I hear.
19And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses' anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount.
20And he took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and strawed it upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it.

See? The Bible condemns rock and roll music and recognizes its descent from Satanic bush monkeys. "Christian" rock is no different -- and Deep Purple (their name an obvious reference to rectal intercourse) are about as far from Christian as you can get.

Honestly, Smoke on the Water is one of the greatest guitar riffs on Earth! How can people playing it be a satanic ritual? That song may be great but it has no supernatural value what so ever.

That's the only song I know how to play on the guitar.

    So let's clarify.

People Playing music =/= satanic ritual.
    Ok?
    Good.

That must have been an awesome event! I love Deep Purple, and those opening chords are one of the few things I've learnd to play so far. I've recently begun learning to play, but am having to do so with just books, since lessons aren't in the budget right now.

"I thought it was going to be kind of cheesy," said Hannah Koch, of Prairie Village, who came clad in an elf costume.

    Satanic ritual draws thousands

Every Christian knows that rock and roll music is the Devil's own -- so what happens when nearly two thousand people gather in one place to play it? Looks to me like a plot to raise Satan himself up out of Hell.

'Smoke on the Water' strikes world record chord
    POSTED: 10:57 a.m. EDT, June 4, 2007

KANSAS CITY, Kansas (AP) -- More than 1,680 guitar players turned out, tuned up and took part in what organizers say was a world record rendition of Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water" -- a song that was the first many of them ever learned.

Some came from as far away as California and Germany on Sunday to take part in a Kansas City radio station's effort to break a Guinness world record for the most people playing the same song simultaneously. The record had been 1,323 people playing the same song in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 1994.

"It was cool to see little kids playing, people who had been playing for their whole lives, like older people, and then I'm sure there were people like me who just picked up the song a couple days before," said Autumn McPherson, of Winfield, a senior at the University of Kansas. Preliminary numbers show 1,683 people played the popular early '70s guitar riff on Sunday at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

"I thought it was going to be kind of cheesy," said Hannah Koch, of Prairie Village, who came clad in an elf costume. "But after I got here, I got caught up in the excitement of it."

Tanna Guthrie, a morning show host for KYYS (99.7 FM), came up with the idea for the record attempt. She said her station will send participant sign-up lists, photos, videos and copies of media coverage to Guinness seeking official recognition of a record.

Guthrie said she chose "Smoke on the Water," a track off Deep Purple's "Machine Head" album, because it's one of the first songs many guitarists learn.

"You never know if you can pull something like this off," she said.

One of the participants, John Cardona of Hanford, California, said he brought felt-tip pens so he could get others to sign his guitar.

"It was the guitar I learned on," the 41-year-old said. "It was very dispensable on the way here, but very valuable to me now."
