Brother V, I actually respect you for your down to earth manner. Out of everyone I have seen post on here, you and brother Hutchins have struck me as the least arrogant/prideful of them all.

Now when you say Im wishy washy modern christianity, I wouldnt agree with that. I try to follow the Word of God the best way I can interpret it. I can only do that which I feel God is speaking to my heart or core. I can see that many of you know the Bible, and that is good! But it becomes a problem when you yourselves believe that you know all there is to know and that there is no chance that you are wrong in some of the ways that you have. I will be the first to admit that I dont know/understand all of the Bible. Yet I have ran across 3/4 people that claim that they follow, and I quote, "all of the Bible." Now to make that claim is to claim to know/understand 'all of the Bible.' Thats why I say be humble and have humility. Dont be arrogant, because Christ was not arrogant. In fact, God humbled Himself, even unto death(Phil. 2:8) for you and me. All I ask of any of you is to represent Christ in a LOVING and HUMBLE manner.

For your sake, I hope and pray that you are on the road to Christ. I pray that He will reveal Himself to you and more to me as well. We are the body of Christ, and for this reason, I pray that we could unite as His body!

I'm completely arrogant, and prideful. I'm not humble at all. To claim humility pretty much says that you aren't.

A wishy washy modern christian, is one who won't rebuke a sinner. It's one who says that "God loves the sinner, and not the sin".

God doesn't love sin, God won't separate the sinner from the sin. God loves the sinner enough to send that sinner to hell.

A wishy washy modern christian will have an ichtus on their car while going to the liquor store. They have their Jesus fish on the car when they speed past you on the interstate. They don't abstain from the appearance of any evil, let alone even abstain from evil.

You may consider some of the things said here to be hate speech. I assure you it is not. The language used by some of my brethren may be shocking, but there's no hate in it. If your house was on fire, would you like for them to tap you on the shoulder and politely say "Excuse me sir, but it appears that you might want to evacuate the house as there's a chance it could burn down around you; if you don't want to, that's fine". Or would you rather have them come running in, grab you by the shirt and inform you that "your house is on fire and if you don't get out NOW, you will burn inside it!!!"

Are you familiar with the classic hymn "Just as I am"

Most people take that song to mean that Jesus will take them "just as they are". That is correct, Jesus will take them as they are. However, once they are taken, that's when they have to make a change. Jesus accepts you as the unrepentant sinner. You had better stop being an unrepentant sinner once he has accepted you.

Modern wishy washy christians don't make the change. Have you made a change?

John 7:24 says 'Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgement' which is what I am trying to do. Not by the way you look, but the way some of your 'true christians' are doing things.

Do you not see the hypocrisy here? You look at what we write and judge us. We look at what our visitors write and we judge them. Yet you have somehow convinced yourself that you are judging us for what "we do" yet we are judging them "based on appearance." Explain to me how this makes one shred of sense. We are both judging someone based on what they write. The truth is that you so desperately want to feel like you are right that you are willing to somehow trick your brain into thinking you are behaving differently than us.

When you call yourself a 'true christian' you are saying you represent Christ.

How do you get that conclusion? It is a DEFINITIONAL in error. A Christian is one who FOLLOWS Christ. A Christian is not the representative of Christ. They only representative for Christ would be Chirst's lawyer, if he hired one. (Of course the catholics think that their pope is God's representative, but I hope you agree with me that that is just insane.)

And if you act the complete opposite of what Christ was all about, then that bothers me.

How do you know what Christ was "all about?" The Bible, right? Then let me ask you this: Point to a single piece of scripture that we have twisted away from it's PLAIN MEANING. You haven't done that yet because you can't.

I love every one of my neighbors. You are not my neighbor. You aren't one of those freaks that thinks that "neighbor" means Jesus meant "every human on Earth" are you? For goodness sake, he (as God) JUST GOT THROUGH killing millions of people himself. Besides, he also tells us:

How do you explain this? Do you take the literal meaning and conclude, "Jesus said to love my neighbors, but hate my family. OK!" Or do you twist the words to mean something that they don't?

To hammer this home, God clarifies what he means by love:

10Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

What is there to "interpret?" Do you think God left us with some Jumble Puzzle that we have to piece together to figure out what it means? Do you think that the creator of all things that is threatenign to send each of us to Hell would leave some sort of Blue's Clues trail that we may or may not figure out in time? No! The words are clear and plain. You only feel the need to "interpret" them because some of them nake you feel uncomfortable. When you stop having this feeling of repulsion to some of God's plain words, THEN you will be a True Christian.™

Yes, doing away with the old law of the HEBREWS. Obviously society has modernized, so we're not living in the same way the Hebrews did and not required to do the things God commanded them to do. The law under GOD is the same, and always will be the same unless he commands otherwise.
You are not coming from God if you're argueing with TRUE CHRISTIANS™, because True Christians™ reference all knowledge from the Bible making their arguments inerrant.

Like the often reasonable Billy Ruben suggested, I would recommend you read more of the Word and hone your arguments. You are formidable, but you could be so much better if you would just stop pretending like you follow the Old Testament nor neglect parts of the New.

The truth is, it's all allegorical. Go with the parts you find agreeable and forget what is unpleasant. It's really all about validating your own preconceived notions.

I have been studying the Bible for forty years. You come on here, blasting us saying we are "doing it wrong" when it's obvious to everyone here that you don't know as much as you pretend to know, and you lecture us about humility.

We are no longer under the letter of the law, but we are still very much under the spirit of the law. We no longer have to worry about which animals we are supposed to sacrifice on which day, but sin is still sin, and God has not changed.

None at all. They are equally great as the New Testament! However, these laws were fulfilled and God made a new covenant with man! The OLD WAS DONE AWAY WITH! Many of the old laws still apply...especially the ones that carry over into the new testament. Ydur personal relationship with God or lack there of is the only thing that will determine you afterlife and where you spend it. Im not here to step on toes. Well, bestiality is only outlawed on the Old Testament. According to your logic, it would be OK to have sex with your dog: it is only outlawed in the Old Testament. Same with a lot of other things. Why not just get rid of the whole Creation "myth" as well? After all, Genesis is in the Old Testament.

In True Christianity, one of the philosophies is "if it's from God, we listen". This is confirmed in several instances in the Bible (for details, I refer you to Pastor Ezekiel, who is well versed in this subject).

This is not to be tolerated!

If we feel and notice that our prayers are being answered, should we see that as a sign that God thinks our beliefs are mistaken? See the last line in my signature. It is often difficult to explain: if you "call" God, then God will answer the "phone".

None at all. They are equally great as the New Testament! However, these laws were fulfilled and God made a new covenant with man! The OLD WAS DONE AWAY WITH! Ok, well if you follow the whole Bible, you dont eat shrimp b/c of Leviticus...understandable, except what was said in Romans 14:2-3 'For one believeth that he may eat all things; another, who is weak, eateth herbs. Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth; for God hath received him.'

Hebrews 8:13 says 'In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old(or obsolete). Now that which decayeth(or is becoming obsolete) and waxeth(or growing) old is ready to vanish away.'

Dont you see? When Jesus came, He made a new covenant with man!
Matthew 15:11 says'Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.'
