Behold This Image: No one on the train was killed. One person walking down the sidewalk was crushed. I don't know what unspeakable evil the deceased did to arouse God's Righteous Anger, but you can bet it was something horrific enough to cause God to drop a locomotive on him/her. Note there were no collateral deaths. One offender ...One Death .. Truly the Almighty IS merciful!!

Job 31:3 Is not destruction to the wicked? and a strange punishment to the workers of iniquity. Praise Him Amen.

How many people do you think there are in the world who's death certificate lists "Crushed by locomotive falling from sky" as the cause of death????

God apparently felt that a mere lightning bolt smiting just wouldn't do and wanted to:

A. Smite the offending trash.
B. Get some press coverage
C. Show all the power of God
D. Use the greasy spot under the locomotive that used to be a person as an example, warning sinners of the dire consequences of displeasing HIM.
E. Dispatch the offending scum in such a manner that there would be no doubt at all that it was the Hand of God's doing.

A little more background: The event occurred in Paris in 1895. So the deceased was a wine swillin', snail eatin' , Frenchy Papist. One can only imagine what the deceased did to anger God, but being a Frenchy, you can bet it had something to do with sex.

He meant why weren't trains crashing down on every sinner. There are so many sinners in this world, it would seem like it was raining trains.

@Nolitafaerietale Ah, I understand. But that is not how it works. Most sinners are not punished in life but in the afterlife by not being allowed to Heaven. Which is a very good thing because it allows sinners to repent and still go to Heaven. #Psalm 9:17
