Maybe you don't even know the difference between then?
In The Netherlands we speak Dutch.
In Denmark they speak Danish
The capital of The Netherlands is Amsterdam.
The capital of Denmark is Copenhagen.
The president of The Netherlands is Jan-Peter Balkenende.
The president of Denmark is Lars Løkke Rasmussen.
The Queen of The Netherlands is called Beatrix.
The Queen of Denmark is calles Margaretha II
The Netherlands has 16,5 million inhabitants.
Denmark has 5,5 inhabitants.
The currency of The Netherlands is the euro.
The currency of Denmark is the crown.
The Netherlands is borderd by the North Sea.
Denmark is borderd by the Baltic Sea.
And the list goes on and on. Is this enough for you people to realise The Netherlands and Denmark are two different countries? And do you realise it's a bit strange to ask about the differences? Just as strange asking about the differences between America and Mexico. Or America and Iran. Or America and China. Or South-Africa and Brazil. Or Spain and Venezuela.

Re: What is the difference between Denmark and the Netherlands?
Why is this so hart to understand for you people? The Netherlands and Denmark are two different countries in Europe. The capitals are Amsterdam and Copenhagen. We do not share the same language, we do not even share a border. Asking about the differences is asking about the differences between America and Mexico.
If you want to learn more, check Wikipedia. It even comes in simple English...

Ha! See? Even you can't keep remember the difference.
Admit it, even you find it impossible to tell the difference![/QUOTE]Ahhh my friend, this i good. Really! Do not worry for me as i can clearly see the differnce, but as written in this thread before, Netherlands are very well know for their windmills. So is Denmark, but we are even more famous for our windTURBINES - and that was actually my reference. I will try to be more clear about these things in the future.
Originally posted by Brother Temperance View PostSo are they from Netherland or Holland? They can't be both. And if they were from one or the other, surely they'd be called Netherish or Hollish? Being called Dutch would only make any sense if they were from Dutchmark.
Originally posted by Brother Temperance View PostDynamite was invented in 1867, some time after the USA was built. And besides, you'd be able to tell if the USA was built out of dynamite, Pearl Harbour would've sent the entire country sky-high.

Originally posted by Grapes View PostJust check your history book Nobar. Its two countrys in Europe, not cities.
Netherland are well know for wooden shoes yes, legal cannabis on certain places, and flowers. Denmark has the windmills - so that we can become unrelated to the oil usage.
Originally posted by Holland.comFor centuries Dutch windmills have held an irresistible attraction for artists... Windmills are inextricably bound to our history and culture. Sorry Mrs. Rogers, but people frome NETHERLAND (HOLLAND), is reffered to as "Dutch".
The first post in this thread that are more or less correct"True Christians" can learn a lot from you!
Not denmark, not Netherland, but Sweden. Its named after Alfred Nobel, the man who invented dynamite, that you used to build your country with.

Maybe if I knew some of the differences I'd be able to tell them apart.

Originally posted by Mrs. Rogers View PostHmm, I though Zealand was the capital of Denmark, as it was a Dutch chap (Abel Tasman) who discovered New Zealand; I've heard that the Denmarkish often like to be referred to as "Dutch". The Netherlands is where we get "nether regions" from.

For anyone who is still confused, may I suggest they remember that both countries drive on the same side of the road and use metric measurements.
I hope that clears up the matter."True Christians" can learn a lot from you!
Originally posted by Oakland "Reb" Griner View PostUpon further research, I found some more differences;
* while children in both country are slower than average to achieve toilet training, Danish children take some what longer than the Dutch
* Danish toddlers and children are slightly more likely to eat their own boogers, the Dutch more likely to eat other children's.
* Dutch toddlers are somewhat more likely to wet the bed, the Danish children prefer to soil theirs
* Catholic priests prefer Danish children to molest, but curiously, the Dutch children are less likely to report the abuse

Originally posted by Brother Temperance View PostYou actually send a special representative to the EU to drink for Denmark? Wow.
It is expensive to run this kind of parliament. In the old days they met a 3 several places: Luxembourg, Strasbourg and Brussels. Then the chairs in Luxembourg turned out not to be wide enough with all this good food they got served just after they had finished an expansion of the building. In general they were tired of moving from their seats, so they tried to stop the use of other houses than the one in Brussels. They have good beer and chocolate in Belgium, that's why. But France objected so some days every month the officials wake the members and carry them to busses and then it is off to Strasbourg.

First of all they are COUNTRIES not CITIES, big difference there mate.
Lets see.. In Denmark they speak Danish and in The Netherlands they speak Dutch. The Danish flag is red and white whereas flag of the The Netherlands is is red, white and blue.
Oh and by the way I am a New Zealander, not an Australian, so don't you dare call me an Australian.
