Bluesy Rocker & Chrisitan? Have my Doubts

Jonny Lang is well know in the blues/rock genre. In recent years he has taken to wearing his Christian conversion on his sleeve.

In my view, a requirement for being a Christian is listening to or performing Christian music. Playing the same style of music as Satan is just not being a Christian.

At Landover Baptist every Sunday, real Christian hymnes are sung. So, of course, the question is this: Is there any other style of music that is actually Christian?

I'm a politician, not a theologian. So, the final answer to this question must come from our Pastors.

But, I have my own view: Christian music does not include blues/rock and Jonny Land is not a True Christian™.
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

We Catholics invented Christian music... well... pretty much all Western music... so let me tell you with certainty that Gregorian chants are perfectly fine as are a number of western classical pieces written for the Church by good Catholic boys inspired by God.

I can also tell you with equal certainty that 'Blues/Rock' is not Christian music and even if it were, Mr. Lang's emotionally challenged command of the idiom has less soul than a salad bar thus suggesting he has sold his soul just so he can bore a listener with derivative drivel.

    Bless you, my electoral aberration,

I really don't know. I know around here we have an annual Christian Blues Festival, but I've never gone. I've stated before, I'd rather deal with Satanists than with false christians, they're just so convinced that they're right.

I have noticed that when a public persons career is on the downswing they either go Christian or Gay to try and boost it.

        Absolutely right, father Maurice,

especially since we all know that "Blues Brothers", a movie about atheist Blues musicians, is a classic propanganda movie by the catholic church of Satan:

It`s about time we say enough is enough! Let´s all return to the traditional Western values of discipline, obedience, morality and freedom. Freedom from the reds and the blacks and the criminals, prostitutes, panders and punks, football hooligans, juvenile delinquents, lezbians and left wing scum...

If he really converted he would have rejected the negro music.

Re: Bluesy Rocker & Chrisitan? Have my Doubts

With all due respect to my fellow True Christian™ Blues enthusiasts and brother "rockers" here at Landover, Johnny Lang's transparently False Christianity disturbs my backbeat less than what Johnny Winter has been up to lately.

My Lord! Johnny Winter NOT on heroin! And featured in a Colorado Springs newspaper profile! I have no doubt that Muddy Waters himself is rolling over in his grave and tempting Johnny with some wonderfully succulent table Debussy, in an effort to pull Johnny back to the crossroads (or at least up river).

Will Johnny succumb to such temptation? I don't know. My mind is too scrambled by the thought of Johnny attending some mega-church other than Landover. I don't think I can make sense of any of this.

I need to retreat to my prayer closet with my Thomas Dorsey and Al Green mp3s and seek the Lord. Amen.
