Re: Looks like an ant hill to me

Oh but remember how we're told constantly that boodists don't worship buddha

If that were true, why are they praying to an ant hill? Anyone have an anteater handy?

That actually looks a lot like Boodah too.

Buddhists worship an anthill. Catholics worship grilled-cheese sandwiches and water stains in highway underpasses. Hindus have even been known to worship traffic barriers. What won't the unsaved worship, apart from Jesus?

    Workers discover “Buddha” ant hill

An ant hill shaped in resemblance of Buddha has caught the eye of many locals in Ben Cat District, Binh Duong Province.

Workers stumbled upon the hill while extracting latex at a rubber plantation in the province.

The ant hill is about 40 centimetres tall and can be seen to reflect the Sakyamuni Buddha sitting in his meditation posture. As soon as the discovery was made public, thousands of locals along with people from neighbouring provinces flocked to the site to see this “miracle” with their own eyes and make ceremonial offerings.

Hoang Thi Minh, a local from Rach Bap Hamlet, An Tay Commune, Ben Cat District said, “This is such a strange phenomenon that cannot be explained. I think it is a very good omen presented to us from above and that’s why many people have travelled a great distance to come here and worship the Buddha.”

A sort of “fence” was put in place in order to protect this special ant hill from being damaged. However, the number of people who flock here continues to rise and has caused considerable disorder to the region.

The local authorities have since asked Ben Cat District’s Buddhism representatives to move this figure to Long Hung Pagoda, Tan Dinh Commune for people to come and worship so that order can be restored in the area where it was discovered.
