Grounds for that claim? something you need to substantiate before we even look at the other attempts to clutch at straws in your post.

In the same way that America has used "terrorists" to further their cause when it suited them, not always such a good idea though.

    Gentlemen,

Through past readings (you have a lot of time for that on the sea) the most famous American sponsored pirate turned privateer is Jean Lafitte who through his and his brother's poor decisions fell in and out of favor with locals, local politicians, local militia and the US Navy itself. His band were helpful in repelling the British during the War of 1812 which resulted in he and his group being granted full pardon by the US. He was later killed by Spanish privateers during a time in which he was still acting as a US privateer though without a letter of marque, making him essentially a pirate again.

So here it is Pasta Boy, your false religion was started in September, fact or fiction? The Mooslim hoard attacked the USA in September, fact or fiction?
It is obvious to all with the exception of you, that the Mooslims attacked the USA as a retaliation for the creation of Pastafairimnusm. How does it feel to have the red blood of Godly Americans on your hands pasta boy?

Really. Privateers are no different than the mercenaries like the Hessians that England employed during the American Revolution. Your statement is a blatant attack on the Free Market, crass classwarfare and you should be ashamed of yourself. That is like saying Blackwater is just a common gang of trigger happy thugs.

Burn a Koran Day is when REAL Americans take a stand against terrorism. There are no place for pirates there. The original terrorists.

Now I do accept that many round the world could see that as grounds to find Talk Like a "Pirate" Day offensive, but for an American to say it is, is to reject your own country's history.
Privateers and Pirates are two different things. Privateers are contractors who apply the invisible hand of the Freemarket to War. Pirates are mere thugs who stole from whom ever they can. Privateers created the US Navy and didn't scamper off when the going got tough, Jeremiah O'Brien being a prime example and who spent most of his career capturing Royal Navy warships.

Simple showing up to the family picnic with some eye patches and stuffed parrots on Koran Burning Day isn't going for a quick round of dunk the Muzzie isn't going make pirates family friendly anytime soon. Sorry.
