And don't forget a contact that all the crew signed that was a akin to what became the American constitution.

Re: Talk Like a "Pirate" Day is OFFENSIVE!
This gets back to Brother Temperance's original point; why celibate something vile that accidentally did a good thing. Sure Nazi killed communists, sure Communist killed Nazis and sure the winter killed the French but a few good things like that don't erase the rest. That's like saying Jimmy Carter is a good man because he is kind to his dog.Somehow I dont' think Carter's victims would be impressed.Originally posted by Jo Freddie View PostNapoleon is one of those leaders who tried to take on Russia, I know this is history from outside of the usa so you may not have fully understood it.
Pirates had socialist communities were they shared their wealth, provided health care and retirement to the entire crew. Something as offensively un-Christian and un-American as that deserves no celebration.

We weren't discussing Napoleon. We were comparing Communist Nazis to Pirates and Catholics. Why would you bring up Nappy?Originally posted by Jo Freddie View PostNapoleon is one of those leaders who tried to take on Russia, I know this is history from outside of the usa so you may not have fully understood it.
Admit it, you thought Nappy was a German Nazi.

Repeatedly History shows us that leaders that have visions of world domination mess up big time when they take on Russia, so I put it to you that you have got it the wrong way round.

So, now you're going to tell us Napoleon was a German Nazi?Originally posted by Jo Freddie View PostTempy History shows us that it is combination of the tenacity of the Russian people and the ferocity of the Russian winter that lead to the defeat of the likes of Napoleon. The nature of the political system has nothing to do with it, so yes free Europe does also owe a debt to the Russian weather, maybe we should make a snowman to commemorate it.

The FSM tells us that The Pirates are his chosen People, who are we to question God?Originally posted by Higgins View PostI have a question for you Jo, if pirates violate your 8 things I'd really rather you didn't, are they still FSM's chosen people? After all there are plenty of document times when pirates raped, pillaged, burned, and murdered. All of which are for the most part against FSM's wishes. How then can you justify saying that pirates (all pirates) are the chosen people if they themselves are able to go against what FSM teaches?
As for the documents you refer to I have addressed that many times before:
Barbadosed even successfully sued for libel over a book that was written about him. What we’re told of Pirates in history books today is blatantly wrong, Thieves and outcasts they were not – these were His Chosen People, the ones who listened and followed His divine plan, whatever it was. The commonly propagated myth that Pirates were thieves can be traced, unsurprisingly to the Christian theologists of the Middle Ages. It’s just another example of the discrimination and misinformation that we’ve had to contend with over the years, and another reason Pastafarians have been so secretive about their beliefs.
As I also keep saying

Let me think about that for a moment.....Originally posted by Brother Temperance View PostHmmm. Does this mean that negro gangsta rappers, with their obsessive craving for "fine booties" are in fact the real modern-day pirates?
Nope!

If that's a question, then I can only assume you were educated "on the high seas". By the cook. Who couldn't read. Which would explain the obsession with pasta.
Does your pasta book say it's OK to lie? You made a false claim about Somalia.
Meanwhile, a little truth about pirates: They are obsessed with getting booty.
