Re: Athiests promote dependency, welfare mentality, obesity
Read my signature? Please? and I was talking about the bombs being dropped on innocent people. What about the pastor who was going to burn another religions HOLY book? Should I not judge him, didn't your Jesus say not to hate but to love thy neighbor? *sigh* If I was judging you by your religion I would group you all into one bunch. But, I am judging your values which are all hateful.

If you can think for yourselves, then why are you unable to feed yourselves.Originally posted by Atheist of America View PostYa well most of us don't have to believe in an "all powerful deity" do we? We can think for ourselves.
<--- definite Christian values right here.
How is this
True Christian values. Do any of them look like True Christians.

I agree with you Jeb. How are these people ever supposed to pull themselves up by their boot straps (which in many cases is the only article of clothing they have left) when they are getting all these free hand outs? That's why I taught my children independence and self-reliance when they were little. No free rides for them. Why was I so hard on them? Because if I hadn't been they would probably be homeless illegal immigrants right now.

Re: Athiests promote dependency, welfare mentality, obesity
My church up in Canada had plots that you could rent out for gardening. It was $250 for the season, and you could plant any LEGAL plants you wanted. The rules were, if you didn't take care of your crop the farmer would come in and disk it.
Well as a good will and following the "feed the hungry" the church decided to offer any unrented plots for free to anyone on welfare who wanted it. They also had a drive where we gave seeds to the church for these people. First of all only about half of the left over plots were snatched up. The welfare queens weren't interested. Then they showed up with no tools so they begged and stole (yes some of my tools went missing) tools then stood there staring at them like they had no idea what it was. Then they just quit showing up and one by one, each of them were disked under.
Only one woman actually took advantage of the project, and the good news is that she became a member of our church, and got a job working for one of the men in our church. Praise Jesus, that system sure separated the wheat from the chaff.

I'll point out that anyone who says that because the Bible tells us to "feed the hungry and clothe the naked" that we're supposed to support the creation of welfare queens and charity kings.
"Feed the hungry" means just that - the hungry. Rich people get hungry, everybody gets hungry. We feed the hungry worldwide with fast food franchises, and all-American, Iowa-grown high-frutose corn syryp.
"Clothe the naked" means just that - find nudists and get clothes on them! The world used to be covered with naked savages until Christian civilizers clothed them, with the maxim gun when necessary.

Why does this not surprise me. These atheists do nothing but sit around making up wild theories. Why don't they get up and get a job to feed themselves.

Athiests promote dependency, welfare mentality, obesity
Nothing traps people in poverty more than coddling them with handouts. So of course crippling America's work ethic, shoving illegal books down our children's throats, and spitting on the face of baby Jesus go togther:
It's not enough that a national survey released Tuesday found atheists were the highest-scoring group on basic religious knowledge — now members of Metro State Atheists are being regular goody-two-shoes.
The group began a three-day campus food drive Tuesday dubbed "Food for Freethought."
The atheists take in nonperishable food items or cash donations from fellow students or other passers-by. In return, they hand out free books.
These are books that have been banned, censored or at least roundly criticized, said group co-founder Joel Guttormson.
The event dovetailed with "Banned Books Week," the last week of September, when hundreds of libraries and bookstores draw attention to what they believe is the mounting problem of censorship...
....about 3,400 Americans were called in May and June and asked 32 fairly basic questions about the Bible, Christianity and other world religions. On average, Americans answered correctly 16 of the 32 questions.
Atheists, people who do not believe in god, and agnostics, those who are unsure of the existence or nature of god, averaged 20.9 correct answers. Jews and Mormons performed next best. Catholics correctly answered fewer than half (14.7).
"Believe it or not," Guttormson said, "at my house, I have two Bibles, two Korans, a Bhagavad Gita and Hindu poems. I have tons of books on Scriptures."
According to a 2009 Pew report, people with no religion make up 16.1 percent of adult Americans: atheists, 1.6 percent; agnostics, 2.4 percent; and those who say they are simply not part of organized religion, 12.1 percent....
...Guttormson said he gets hate mail every time his group does a public event.
