Most of the questions asked in that forum are applicable to Christian doctrines as well. You cant undermine those things in Islam, and leave them intact in Christianity. I would say that we can spend lifetime criticizing each other, and it is easy to do so. It is much harder to love one another despite our differences, but this is a worth while thing to do. God willing, members of our faiths will one day learn to live in peace, for this is a favorable outcome to fighting each other. In Islam, we war is considered a bad thing, that is why the wartime flag is black. This is seen also in the persecution of the Prophet of his followers for thirteen years, including assasination attempts and attempts to provoke war. Allah didnt allow the Prophet peace be upon him to fight, and most interpret this to mean that God does not intend for us to fight each other. In Christianity, this is seen in the fact that Jesus did not fight those who persecuted him, but asked God to show them the light of faith.

I had a look at your thread. i would advise you to get a copy of the Holy Quran with the original arabic, as well as English translation and commentary. A good refference is the Yusuf ali commentery, and you will find that there is no question that you have cannot be answered. In the Quran it states that

There is no question that they ask that we have not provided an answer for.

1.The Qur'an says "To those who believe and do deeds of righteousness hath Allah promised forgiveness and a great reward" (Surah 5:9).

Question: Are you doing enough good deeds to receive salvation on the Day of Judgment? How do you know?


2. The Qur'an says, "O ye who believe! Turn unto Allah in sincere repentance! It may be that your Lord will remit from you your evil deeds and bring you into Gardens underneath which rivers flow, on the day when Allah will not abase the Prophet and those who believe with him. Their light will run before them and on their right hands; they will say: Our Lord! Perfect our light for us, and forgive us! Lo! Thou art Able to do all things," (66:8-9). Notice how it says if you are sincere you may receive forgiveness.

Question: How do you know you are sincere enough to be forgiven of Allah?
Question: Does it give you peace to know that even if you are very sincere that at best, you MIGHT receive forgiveness?
Question: If you say that you know you are sincere enough in your repentance before Allah, how do you know you are not deceiving yourself?
Question: Is your heart really good enough to muster enough sincerity before a Holy and Righteous God?
Question: If you say yes, I honestly and humbly ask you, "Are you being prideful?"
Question: If you say you are not being prideful, then are you boasting in your sincerity?


3. In Christianity, Jesus is God in flesh who paid for our sins on the cross (1 Pet. 2:24). Because of that, we Christians are secure in Him and do not have to worry about doing enough good works to please God since we are saved by grace through faith in Him, (Eph. 2:8-9).

Question: Why should we Christians give up our guaranteed Salvation© in Jesus for the requirements of your Qur'anic law when you yourselves don't even know if you have done enough good deeds to be saved on the Day of Judgment?


4. In the Bible, Jesus said in John 15:13, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." In Christianity, the greatest act of love is performed by God Himself -- since Jesus is God in flesh (John 1:1, 14; Col. 2:9). Jesus is the one who fulfilled His own words on this. He laid His life down for us.

Question: What is the greatest act of love performed by Allah?
Question: If what Jesus said is true, then hasn't someone besides Allah performed the greatest act of love?
Question: Why do you, as a Muslim, want us to give up such a great love performed by God Himself for your belief in Allah who only loves people if they are Muslims, and under certain circumstances?


5. Islam teaches that the Holy Spirit is Gabriel. In the Bible, the Holy Spirit lives in True Christians™.

Question: If the angel Gabriel is the Holy Spirit, how can he dwell in us?

"That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us." (2 Tim. 1:14).

"Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?" (1 Cor. 3:16).


6. Lying is okay?

Question: Was Muhammad wrong for advocating lying? Is Lying okay? "Muhammad bin Maslama got up saying, "O Allah's Apostle! Would you like that I kill him [Ka'b bin Al-Ashraf]?" The Prophet said, "Yes," Muhammad bin Maslama said, "Then allow me to say a (false) thing (i.e. to deceive Kab). "The Prophet said, "You may say it," (Hadith Vol. 5, Book 59, #369).
Question: Who is more holy, Allah or God?

In the above quote from the hadith, Muhammad advocated lying. The Christian God would never approve of lying. Does the god of Islam approve of lying? If not, then wasn't Muhammad wrong? If he was not wrong, then Allah approves of lying. Which God is more holy? The God of Christianity is far more holy.

In fact, the God of Christianity is the ONLY TRUE God.

Seems like a good place to start: In North America and Europe, we don't say "Peace be with you" much. Yet we're the most peaceful places on Earth, and have been for more than half a century.

In the Middle East you guys do say "Peace be with you" and yet 99% percent of the war going on in the world is in the Islamic world or on its borders.

Why?

Seriously, name a war going on right now that does not involve Muslims.

In America, when a teacher fails to teach his students, we fire him and hire a new teacher. Your teacher has failed for 1300 years now, yet masses of you want to become even more Islamic. Why?

When the Arabs created the first Califate, they had inherited parts of the world that were the most advanced technically, artistically, and so on. The Middle East was the wealthiest and most sophisiticated civilization in the world.

A few centuries of Islam later and you have the impoverished, corrupt, violent, ignorant permanent dark-age that the Islamic world has been in ever since.

First of all, please know that I consider all Christians in the highest respect, and nothing you say will cause me to change that opinion, because I have been ordered in the Qu'ran to hold Christians Jews, and all people. The first thing that I would like to state is that the Bible asks Christians to love their neighbor, does it not? How do you interpret this? Those priests that I have asked have stated that neighbor means anyone. Look at the Prophet Jesus Peace be upon him, he was so persecuted by the Pharisees, and yet he pleaded with God Almighty to forgive them, for they "know not what they do". Your response is extensive, so I will answer the three questions that you wrote down the bottom.

1. Look at your wrist watch. See it? Without Muslims you wouldnt have it. Also, the Atrolabe, which allowed navigators to discover places like Australia. Additionally, you might want to look at the numbers we use everyday, i e, 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 etc. Muslims discovered these numbers, and it is thanks to Islam that we dont use the Roman Numeral System. If we did, we would never have been able to do the complex calculations that are required for so much of our lives to work. the computers we use to post these messages require these numbers. There are a myriad of other inventions, and I should note that without Islam, the Rennaisance would never have occurred, for it was Muslims who rediscovered the ancient greek philosophical texts, which Europeans had forgotten about.

2. Show me a war right now that doesnt involve Americans. Unfortunately, the converse of your question is a legitimate argument against you.

3. I would respond by saying that most Muslims assimilate well in Australia, and throughout the world. There is only a minority which is hardline and dont tolerate our Christian and Jewish brothers and sisters.

Also, i would state that I do consider myself Australian. Also, you ought to know that before Islam, the mid-east was in the state of Jahiliyah, or ignorance. baby girls were killed upon birth by being buried alive, women were not regarded at all as human beings, and there were polytheists everywhere. When the Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him was given the message of Islam through the Angel Gabriel, he was taught that these things were ungodly. He banned the killing of infants, and in response to those who mocked him when he said that women were equal to men, he stated "Were you not born of a women?!". Also, in response to your statement about being the most peaceful place in the world, have you seen the statistics on how many people are murdered each year in America? Also, we have seen two or three school shootings in this year alone from my memory. Also, the mid east was not the most sophisticated place in the world, it became so under the Muslims and the Caliphates, who were patrons of Maths, the Arts, Astrology, Physics, Chemistry etc. Did you ever wonder where modern chemistry got its inspiration? See "Al-Kimiya", the arabic word which alchemy, early western science, is named after.

On reading this forum, and numerous other online sources, I have concluded that Islam and non-Christian religions are misrepresented, and people have a particular bias against them. I would like to say firstly, that the Qu'ran teaches Muslims to respect all religions, and to especially hold Christians and Jews in a high light, as they are members of the so called Abrahamic religions. As for those Muslims that called terrorists, their arguments cannot be substantiated by the Qu'ran or narrations of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be With Him). At this point, I ought to state that the purpose of this blog is not to convince people to convert to Islam, but to respect other religions, despite personal feelings that they may be "incorrect" or "misguided". I ask for your considerations on this argument, and thank you for reading this.
