A friend linked me your "10 reasons why Denmark is going to hell"-thread, so I browsed this site and just got curious about your very different view of the world. You see, where I'm from there are very few religous people. In fact, I don't know any religious people other than my grandmother.

Well there's your problem. You were raised in a Godless portion of this Earth. Have you ever considered the blessings you'd have had had your young mind not been poisoned by the propagandist adults that controlled every facet of your upbringing?

I just said that I do not feel that empty hole inside of me?
I did believe in god when I was younger. But I realized that I don't need to believe in a god to live my life.

We don't believe in God because we need him, we believe in God because we believe he's real. God is not some self-help strategy, he is our LORD and Jesus is our SAVIOR, you can't just decide to stop believing in them just because they stopped fulfilling some selfish purpose.

I simply told my theory of why I think Professor Bessemer felt religion saved him. All I'm saying is that you can be happy without being religious.

You said that you believed when younger? Since most humans have an innate idea of a perfect being that idea had to come from somewhere. From where in life had yours came from, and what experiences have you now had that changed your life for the better?

I did believe in god when I was younger, just like I believed in Santa. I guess I just slowly found out that I don't need to believe in him to live a good life. I'm not trying to convince you that my life is better than any of yours. I'm sure I could be religious and still as happy as I am now.

My parents did tell me about god, my school did teach me about religion. When i was younger no adult ever told me that there is no god - It is my on conclusion. My parents and familiy all think it's okay that I chose not to believe, which I guess would not be the case in your familiy? Or am I wrong?

Have you ever thought, that if you weren't raised by religious people (I just assume you are, correct me if I'm wrong), that you too would be a non-believer?

I can understand that it is hard for you to imagine that you can be happy as a non-believer. That is because religion is such a big part of your life. All your familiy and friends are probably religious too. If I had an addiction and most of my friends did aswel, I would also try to convince everyone that I'm not addicted to this thing, because it's such a big part of my life.

Even if I'm living a "delusional" life, as you put it, I'm still happy, so what is the point? Yes, I think the earth is billions of years old, and that human evolved from monkey, but what does that have to do with what I said?

Being homosexual is not a mental disease, it is just a sexual preference. You were probably sad, and felt like you had an empty hole, that needed to be filled with something. You chose religion, others might have chosen alcohol or drugs, to fill that empty hole.

First of all, I'm not gay, though I have nothing against gay people.

Second, I think I know myself more than you whether I feel this empty whole or not.

Good for you that you are happy with your life as it is now, but you must understand that I don't need to be "saved" because I enjoy my life as it is right now. You maybe didn't feel you had a purpose in life, but found it through god. I know I don't need to have a specific purpose in life just to enjoy it.
