  • Something that disturbed me.

Hi there, I'm a new member and I would like to get the ball rolling by saying hello to everyone who will be reading with me this evening. Sifting through some 'dirty laundry' in the men's only board (whatever that was called), I found some interesting quotes in a topic posted by Jeb Thurmond about economics. I'd like to share one of his statements at this point:

What happens if I don't have the money and never will?

Take out loans and apply for credit cards. The rapture will take you to heaven before you have to pay anything back. Just take a look at the news: disasters, wars, signs all over the place. Clearly we are living in the end times. Keep one credit card to buy food. Send the rest to LBC.

Remember, you can also give with services rather than cash, becoming a missionary is the best way to do this. For example, our Iraq mission is constantly asking for more missionaires due to high turnover."
(Jeb [if I may call you by your provided name], you've spelled missionaries incorrectly.Big deal though, eh?)

This disturbed me, to say the least. Now, I do not wish to offend, but seriously, does no one else see a problem with this? I could see one person honestly believing this and that being fine as long as in my mind I could call it an 'isolated incident' . Then. as a first response, I came upon this post which I am having trouble with as I do not want to take the time to find Pastor Lary Lee's alleged statement so I was thinking someone might shine some light on this for me, help me out a little? Any aid will be much appreciated. Post by Bobby-Joe:
"I agree with Brother Larry Lee on this Jeb; your' articles take a wide stance on this subject that just about covers money. You make an excellent point that happiness doesn’t happen unless it comes at the expense of as many people as possible."
Now, is there an underlying tone to this message that I'm not picking up? Should I just take it at face value? HELP!

Also, on a personal note to Bobby-Joe.

"Vote Republican or God will make you eat your childern for betraying America, Christianity and Freedom."
(You spelled children wrong in your signature, A.K.A.[not to be confused with K.K.K.] every message you've posted on the boards has a misspelling of the word children. Two syllables!)

Well, I'll wrap it up now, I'm a bit tired. Too much excitement for one day. Pleasant dreams everyone.

Brother Joshua, thank you for paying attention to the small deatils. Often those are overlooked, but can have a profound effect on the message sent.

As for the message in the OP, "GET A JOB"!!!
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

Don't mean to be judgmental, I just noticed these flaws and gave those who they belonged to a heads up. I don't mean to anger anyone. Also, I must apologize for posting this here on the "False Religions and Cults" board. Obviously I was not thinking.

As for a reply, "Read my profile before making assumptions!"

Instead of barging into our Godly forum and demanding that we listen to your confusing and imperfect litany of our faults, why not make a thread in the "introductions" section and tell us about yourself.

Which false church do you attend? Which sheltered workshop do you teach at? For example.
                    Who Will Jesus Damn?

Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:

Hypocrites (Matthew 24:51), The Unforgiving (Mark 11:26), Homosexuals (Romans 1:26, 27), Fornicators (Romans 1:29), The Wicked (Romans 1:29), The Covetous (Romans 1:29), The Malicious (Romans 1:29), The Envious (Romans 1:29), Murderers (Romans 1:29), The Deceitful (Romans 1:29), Backbiters (Romans 1:30), Haters of God (Romans 1:30), The Despiteful (Romans 1:30), The Proud (Romans 1:30), Boasters (Romans 1:30), Inventors of evil (Romans 1:30), Disobedient to parents (Romans 1:30), Covenant breakers (Romans 1:31), The Unmerciful (Romans 1:31), The Implacable (Romans 1:31), The Unrighteous (1Corinthians 6:9), Idolaters (1Corinthians 6:9), Adulterers (1Corinthians 6:9), The Effeminate (1Corinthians 6:9), Thieves (1Corinthians 6:10), Drunkards (1Corinthians 6:10), Reviler (1Corinthians 6:10), Extortioners (1Corinthians 6:10), The Fearful (Revelation 21:8), The Unbelieving (Revelation 21:8), The Abominable (Revelation 21:8), Whoremongers (Revelation 21:8), Sorcerers (Revelation 21:8), All Liars (Revelation 21:8)

                      Probably some school in Wiisconsin.
                      Psalm 81:10:

Again, I did not mean to defend anyone. Although I must have because I did receive a rather judgmental and aggressive welcome. No, I did not post my introduction in the proper place. Why? In my experience the proper place for introductions actually does a worse job of introducing you than any part of the regularly attended forum. Not many forums which I have been a part of have any meaningful people who daily check to see if newcomers have made it as far as introducing themselves. For the most part, they don't care.

Since I was hit with a barrage of replies most of which took a negative and unfamiliar tone with me, I am going to only respond to those which caught my attention, such as that I have quoted.

Deaner, my dear friend. Useless layabout is quite the absurd comment to make seeing as that you know nothing of me, if you've read my profile then you know I am employed. However, I am not employed in the same likes as the individuals who moderate and administrate this forum, for I live in North Carolina and in my little corner there is not such a church as theirs.

I would also like to know where it is from that people have made the deduction that I play Wii or any video game for that matter. I do not.
Now, I can help those who are ignorant but those without a desire to learn, those who would rather put words in my mouth or make assumptions about my character, this is stupidity and that can not be helped. I am a firm believer that once a person has learned his or her ways that there is no undoing them, it is only human nature.

                          What do you teach, Wii?

Also, your sig is nice, but it's a little long and there are too many words to really understand what it means.
No, I do not teach Wii. In my beliefs, the Wii is a tool which was created for human beings to use and acquire a feeling as to what it would be like to be an animal. The primitive swinging of arms and lashing out of hope that you'll score the killing blow and win. That's not for me and it's offensive that so many people would presume so.

Thank you for the compliment on my signature. Did you understand it? If not I'm sure you would have said otherwise, so for those who don't understand it, ASK. I have no problem conveying knowledge. Also, I can do nothing about the length, wordiness or dialect of the time seeing as it is a direct quote from Thomas Jefferson, Notes on the State of Virginia (1782).

Also, as I have stated, I do not live in Wisconsin, but I will admit it was a clever pun. Wiisconsin. Hilarious, I actually laughed.

That's enough for now, I think I've covered everything. If I missed you I might double-post or catch up with it later. I'm sure there will be more cynicism and speculation headed my way, offering me a chance to reply and rebuttal.

Also, I would like to make it known that I am employed as a Kindergarten teacher. Call it whatever you want but it's the only job I could find where my pay was correctly proportioned to the women around me. Higher on the grounds that children these days are lacking in good male role models like I myself had growing up.

On a different and off-topic note: Good morning and God bless.

Friend, at Landover we care deeply about welcoming newcomers into the Love of Christ. Unless they're accursed God-mockers or filthy Catholic swine or something like that.

Interesting. Our Pastor Billy-Reuben is a native of North Carolina.
No, I do not teach Wii. In my beliefs, the Wii is a tool which was created for human beings to use and acquire a feeling as to what it would be like to be an animal. Sorry for any offence caused, but we have had an invasion of Wii-fanatics barging into our forums to attack Christ lately, so we have to be on our guard.
Thank you for the compliment on my signature. Did you understand it? If not I'm sure you would have said otherwise, so for those who don't understand it, ASK. That quote is a vicious lie. As the Bible makes perfectly clear, God does indeed punish people for living too near the unrighteous. Perhaps you should ask the citizens of New Orleans whether their neighbours' unbelief hurt them.
Also, as I have stated, I do not live in Wisconsin, but I will admit it was a clever pun. Wiisconsin. Hilarious, I actually laughed.
Friend, just because the poor man's a Belgian, there's no need to be patronising. Well, not that patronising, anyway.
Also, I would like to make it known that I am employed as a Kindergarten teacher. Call it whatever you want but it's the only job I could find where my pay was correctly proportioned to the women around me. Good point. If we keep on allowing Democrats and feeble-headed women to sissify our children and feed them soy, we'll end up with a generation of emo fags on our hands, and how will we win the War on Terror then? I like the cut of your jib.
On a different and off-topic note: Good morning and God bless.
                              Same to you.
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.
