Re: I am a Lutheran.
Pastors -
Thank you ever so much for the Truth about Martin Luther and his Lutherans!
The ladies at the orphanage pointed out the new Lutheran "church" nearby when I was visiting over the holidays. The "pastor" was calling out things in German, and they were answering back:
"Pastor": Es ist Zeit für Rache!
Congregation: Wir müssen die Juden ausrotten!
I just figured it for more filthy Satanic yammering, or maybe discussion of a recipe for Potatoes Au Gratin (you know how they obsess over their next meal, porky Germans) and didn't think to look it up until now! Why, they were saying:
"Pastor": It is time for revenge!
Congregation: We must exterminate the Jews!
I can't imagine that some Lutheran would expect us to believe his ridiculous claim that he doesn't follow Martin Luther! Incredible!
Far better to be a Christian, and follow Christ!

How dare you call yourself a Lutheran.Originally posted by SpoonfulofSugar View PostHow dare you call me a nazi.
You asked us what's wrong with your church, so we pointed out some of the Lutheran Church's beliefs, and now you say that's unfair, because after all how can we expect Lutherans to believe Lutheran beliefs?
Did you know that the Lutheran church has even condemned the Israeli security barrier? That's right, you claim that "On the Jews and their Lies" has no influence on the Lutheran Church, yet here they are, demanding that suicidal-bombing, rapacious Palestinians be allowed to walk around the Middle-East as if they own the place.

How dare you profile my friends and family.
How dare you insult people you don't even know.
1 Corinthians 5:12-13
For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

Re: I am a Lutheran.
The KJV1611 Bible was not "translated" so much as it was dictated directly from God. Take a look at THIS, heretic.Originally posted by SpoonfulofSugar View PostSo everyone who follows this religion believes the same way. Wow. I didn't think such uniformity was possible on God's earth.
May I ask you one thing, this....extremely long abbreviation of a bible you read, when was it translated?

The name of a church does not entirely reflect upon it's members.Originally posted by Jeb Thurmond View PostWhy do you call yourself the Lutheran church? Would you go to a church called the Hitleran church? Or the Attila-The-Hunleran Church? Or the Stalinist Church?
I mean, you have a choice between following our church, founded by John the Baptist, or your church, founded by some sausage-swalling kraut who says that Jews "are full of the devil's feces ... which they wallow in like swine," and the synagogue is an "incorrigible whore and an evil slut..."
Which of the two is closer to Christ?

Re: I am a Lutheran.
Read Hitler's Willing Executioners:
Bishop Martin Sasse, a leading Lutheran churchman, published a compendium Luther's writings shortly after Kristallnacht. Sasse "applauded the burning of the synagogues and the coincidence of the day, writing in the introduction, "On November 10, 1938, on Luther's birthday, the synagogues are burning in Germany." The German people, he urged, ought to heed these words "of the greatest antisemite of his time, the warner of his people against the Jews."
And worst of all, you guys even allied yourselves with the japs!

Looterans are false Christians, so of course satan has you all in disarray. The Bible doesn't tell us to go off and believe whatever crazy ideas flit into your head. God is quite clear on this point.
"Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds" -- 2 John 1:9-11

Re: I am a Lutheran.
Amen.Originally posted by TransmissionI am very interested as to why you perceive faith this way?
No one knows what lies before us. Imagination is one of the strongest powers of the human and living mind. Influences change men; change our perception of life and perception of how to achieve morality and philosophy. When one accepts fate as nothing more than a mere unknown, is when we begin to realize there is much more to the world than the written words of few.
One book is no better than the other, and we have a select number of faiths; clearly because they perceive their belief to the same extent and seriousness you may. However, one book does not make anything more true than the other. Belief is a state of mind in which we hold numerous eternal things dear.
Therefore it is nowhere evident (by evident I mean factually, as the Bible, is not fact. It is as much a belief as the belief of others.). There is absolutely [b]no[/i] argument that may prove other-wise. It is however true than some of the stories that are noted in the Bible have happened, be it mere coincidence or truth (there is no absolute truth). Though, stories of other major religions have been held as accountable that they have in fact also happened. This though is easily explainable if one took a tour down history. Some amount of men wrote these beliefs and stories, they have been passed down through centuries, through families as you would pass on your belief to your children. This does not, however, mean they are all factual the the highest regard as one would find a factual notion to go and judge others beliefs.
In the end, it is still a belief. The only truth is that we are here, in flesh and bone and must work together to maintain a certain amount of tranquility in order to guarantee a place for our future children to flourish.
