    Cherry-picking false Christian defends magic-undie-wearers.

In a letter to the editor in today's Washington Compost, a false Christian fluffy bunny comes to the defense of the LSD cultists:
Jesus said, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. All men will know that you are my disciples if you love one another” (John 13:34-35). He also said, “Anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing” (John 14:12), which included caring for the sick, troubled and powerless. To clarify, Jesus said, “If you love me, you will obey as I command.” Knowing who Jesus considers to be his followers should help us decide who’s who, shouldn’t it?
Evidently, in that person's mind, the parts of the Bible that matter can fit on a 3x5 card, and the rest is filler. Also, if that were the sole criterion for being a Christian, many people who deny the Divinity of Christ would be perfectly good Christians, as would many people who do not believe in God at all.

Christ's actual criteria for being His followers are a bit more complex. For one thing, you have to believe in His name:

John 3:18: He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Of course, you have to believe in the name of the real Jesus, not some made-up version.

In addition, you have to follow the entire Word of God, not just the lovey-dovey parts:

Matt. 4:4: But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Finally, you must not follow another gospel, like ... gosh, I dunno ... the Book of Mormon.
This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. If you think that we've misquoted or twisted Scripture or quoted any verse out of context, please explain in detail how we've done so. Otherwise, if what you read on this site offends you, then you're offended by Almighty God and His Word, not by us.

Why oh why do these people take LSD (or anything else) with the utter intent to experience “altered” reality then go on to say that what they experienced during their intoxication is “more” real? The whole point in poisoning oneself in the first place was to move away from “reality”!

Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about.
    Strawberry Fields forever.

Unbelievable! Only those who follow all of Christ's teachings and believe Him to be the son of God are right with Jesus. This man/woman is so wrong!

I'm so glad you brought this up, Pastor Peters. I wondered for years what the relationship is to the "we-love-Jesus" thing with the Mormons and the magic underware.

Is it they think Jesus wore this kind of underwear?
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.
