You hate 1.2 bilion people, because of the (alleged) actions of a few dozen? That's so logical, open-minded, and caring, I don't know how you stand to be around yourself. Doesn't your head just explode with how awesome you are?

They were a random cross-section of the population, were they not?

2 drivers ran over the child and did not stop, 18 pedestrians walked over the child's body and did not stop Then one rescued the child. Am I mistaken in my math or is that 5% good people and 95% bad people in China?

Perhaps I'm being overly suspicious - but this American: where he takes you are there a lot of Chinese people there? We get American men in Australia especially when there's an aircraft carrier in port many of whom express similar desires to drink coffee at 3 (or 4 more usually) a.m.

THERE ARE OVER 6,000 SAILORS ON AN AIRCRAFT CARRIER and their payscales are a matter of public record, so much $ for an Admiral so much for a Navy pilot and so on. It is easy to look up how many of each there is on an aircraft carrier so you'll know that the liklihood of anyone talking about coffee actually being "the Captain" is very low.

But I let them pretend if they want to. About 3:30-ish everyone's been chucked outa wherever they were and by 4 o'clock the streets are awash with seamen. That's about the time they get thirsty. And I have noticed that the rather dubious looking coffee-joints that open up for them at that hour are predominately Chinese run.

Sometimes unusual things happen - generally, people just walk on by. Curious minds enquire further however and perhaps mine is one of them because I am intrigued: whatever could there be behind that lacquered screen to produce a sound like that

Perhaps you have been in a similar situation & you're wondering if all these Chinese waitresses are mildly heathen (as they seem) or fully depraved and you are right to seek Pastoral guidance.



P.S. I just reread the thread and you have not mentioned whether your American friend is a Christian.
