Well shout glory and halleluyah! Could THIS be the start of the Holy Spirit entering the heathen mudslimes? I take it as a good sign anyway.
Muslims urged to refrain from witchcraft
A group of Muslim women scholars, operating under the umbrella of Muslim Women’s Intellectual Forum, conducted a seminar here on Monday in an effort to bring awareness among Muslim women against the increasing practice of witchcraft and black magic in old city areas. Speaking at the programme, the forum’s president, Ms Sameena Tahsin, said black magic and witchcraft are both prohibited in Islam. It is ignorance that leads people to approach the practitioners of these evil acts in most cases. Citing references from the Holy Quran, Ms Tahsin said it’s a sin to study black magic even for academic purposes. “Practicing magic and seeking help of a black magician is also sin according to Islam. People are resorting to black magic or approaching black magicians with material ambition,” she said. “In Islam, achieving material goals should also be through right channels.” The seminar was held under the auspices of All India Muslim Personal Law Board. Moulana Abdu-Raheem Quraishi, assistant general-secretary of the Board, said the practice of black magic and witchcraft is widespread in areas such as Sultanshahi, Daira Mir Mumin and Tadbund, among others, in the old city. “Awareness, especially among women, is needed to tackle this evil,” he said. “Most people fall prey to it since they are unaware of Islamic values. We can bring a change with proper awareness.” Many women from various parts of the old city were present at the seminar. Among those who addressed the gathering were Ms Maha Jabeen, Prof Lateef Unnisa and Moulana Safi Ahmed Madani.
