I do know that our own Pastor Deacon Fred was at one time good friends with Mr. Phelps, as he mentioned in one of his sermons.

If Phelps has become a sissy, then I doubt they're still speaking.

I don't believe Deaner meant "sissy" in the "prissy nellie Hellbound queer" kinda way, but rather that Phelps may have become somewhat lukewarm.

While homerism is indeed a horrible tragedy in these United States, it seems that Phelps focuses so much on that particular sin that he forgets to condemn all the OTHER sins taking place left and right. For this reason, I could certainly understand why Pastor Deacon Fred would not think too highly of Phelps anymore.

If you tow the Westboro line, and you'll get to Heaven, which is the most important thing. But Phelps doesn't go far enough in the area of rebuking sinners for my taste. All Evangelists should remember James 5:19-20:

Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

So showing the sinner the error of his ways actually gets you some extra credit with God.

I hope my answer isn't too confusing for you. Anyway, Westboro Baptist is the least false religion I know of, with only Landover Baptist being the only true church ever. Even though Brother Phelps and his lovely daughter are liberals (forgive me Jesus) and might be called John 3:16ers for profit, they come close to being the real thing. I hope some day the good folks in Westboro might enjoy an authentic Christian stoning, but for now all we can do is pray.

Westboro is a rabidly anti-homosexual cult that specializes in harassing families by picketing funerals. Not just funerals of gays and lesbians, mind you. They picket the funerals of US soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, saying that the deaths of these young men and women are God's punishment for America's tolerance of homosexuality.

Frankly, I haven't seen all that much evidence of tolerance of homosexuality in America, and I live about 5 miles from San Francisco. But, setting that aside, whatever your feelings about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan (and, I can assure you, I have some strong feelings on that subject), picketing the funeral of a young man or woman who dies in the service of his or her country is so far beyond the line of decency that the line just isn't visible anymore. You True Christians, who believe that God inspired President Bush to launch these wars in defense of our nation, should be ashamed that you have not taken this opportunity to condemn the despicable acts in which Westboro engages. So much for Landover patriotism.

How is that "cult" behavior?

The only problem I see with their tactics -- since punishment from God upon America is to be expected for disobeying His commands -- is their focus upon ONLY the issue of sodomites, and ignoring tolerance of adulterers, people following other religions, divorcers, mollycoddlers of children (child abusers), etc. As it is written, God loves us so much that He will whip us into shape if we do not follow His laws!

Leviticus 26: 27-37

29 And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.

See? God loves us so much, He will pretty much wipe us off the face of the Earth for failure to follow His laws. He will allow our enemies to damage and even nearly destroy us. That's so we don't forget He's there, watching us and wishing us the blissful happiness of utter obedience.

Why does your location not surprise me?

How, in California, where they're making sodomite "marriage" legal, can you say you haven't seen much tolerance of sodomites? They're allowed on TV, and allowed to hold hands in public, and even allowed to hold public office! THEY'RE ABOMINATIONS BEFORE GOD!

What would YOU call tolerance? Allowing public buggery?

It's a false religion, people.

Ok they come close to getting it right, but they believe things like God hates the entire world apart from Westboro. They believe God hates America too. Basically to outrage people they say God hates saved people. On this very forum we have people from Europe who are saved TCs, they are condemned to hell by Phelps, is that right? Of course not.
