    Dzhoos find a new way to mock Our Lord

    They weren't satisfied with temporarily killing Our Lord Jesus Christ, so now they're admitting to having pre-stolen the concept of His death and resurrection for their own nefarious ends.

    From the JYT:

    Ancient Tablet Ignites Debate on Messiah and Resurrection

    JERUSALEM — A three-foot-tall tablet with 87 lines of Hebrew that scholars believe dates from the decades just before the birth of Jesus is causing a quiet stir in biblical and archaeological circles, especially because it may speak of a messiah who will rise from the dead after three days.

    If such a messianic description really is there, it will contribute to a developing re-evaluation of both popular and scholarly views of Jesus, since it suggests that the story of his death and resurrection was not unique but part of a recognized Jewish tradition at the time.

    * * *

    The slaying of Simon, or any case of the suffering messiah, is seen as a necessary step toward national salvation, he says, pointing to lines 19 through 21 of the tablet — “In three days you will know that evil will be defeated by justice” — and other lines that speak of blood and slaughter as pathways to justice.

    * * *

    “This should shake our basic view of Christianity,” he said as he sat in his office of the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem where he is a senior fellow in addition to being the Yehezkel Kaufman Professor of Biblical Studies at Hebrew University. “Resurrection after three days becomes a motif developed before Jesus, which runs contrary to nearly all scholarship. What happens in the New Testament was adopted by Jesus and his followers based on an earlier messiah story.”
    I wonder whom else the devil helped pre-steal the concept of Our Lord's Passion, without which we could not be saved. What's next, a catalog of dying and rising gods from around the world?
    This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. If you think that we've misquoted or twisted Scripture or quoted any verse out of context, please explain in detail how we've done so. Otherwise, if what you read on this site offends you, then you're offended by Almighty God and His Word, not by us.

    Perhaps reviews of pagan conceptions of Hell and flood myths would be order, too. But there's a deeper point here that I hope Pastor Peters will explore--when is something a lie of Satan and when is it simply God misdirecting those who have no faith?

For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
    For that matter, what is the point of the Devil lying about matters of faith at all, if those who are given to know the mysteries will know the truth, and those to whom it is not given will not know the truth? There doesn't seem to be any role for Satan in that at all.

      Satan's role is very clear. Not the least of which is inducing confused atheists into Starr King "seminary" to become Unitarian Unicyclist "ministers".

        It may be the case those tablets are not correctly dated and / or have been misinterpreted.
        The Christian Gospel is indeed unique and without equivalence in any other religion - I can agree with you on that score .
        In Christ there is no East or West,
        In Him no South or North;
        But one great fellowship of love
        Throughout the whole wide earth.
