  • Worried for my son's life!

Good day True Christians, Praise His name!

My 5th son, Matthias has just turned 18 and my husband now lets him go to school and the grocery store on his own. Of course I respect John's decision to allow this but I wish to protect my son from the atheists and weak-willed half-a**ed Christians out there (Luke 18:16) (1 Timothy 5:8) (2 Timothy 3:5) (Proverbs 22:6)

I have decided to do regular checks in his room for any atheist propaganda books that may have been given to him, disguised as 'gentle' reading for the curious enquiring Christian mind.
I know of some books of course, but I hope that you Jesus-loving God-fearing people can tell me which evil satanic titles to look out for? I expect that he would be given easy, simple to read books as he looks innocent and simple himself, (1Corinthians 10:13), for he walks in Jesus's light only, single-mindedness True Christianity.

Thank you for any help you can offer, Great is the Kingdom of God!
I never feel like punching Jesus in the face....

This is a little bit puzzling. Prior to his 18th birthday, did your husband sit with him in school all day? Why was he not decently home-schooled?

However, I worry that you may have been over-protective. My own boys are allowed out witnessing (under the supervision of an older sibling or other close blood-relative) from the age of 5. Little Nathanael (4) can hardly wait for his birthday in a little over 2 weeks time! From the age of 6, they are allowed out alone and at 8 they are considered old enough to supervise younger children. I am breeding up Soldiers for Christ here, not precious little snowdrops who burst into tears if anyone even "looks at them funny" (if you'll forgive the use of the vernacular).

    Ephesians 6:10
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

I'm not surprised. But look on the bright side. If he has been through the English education system, it is pretty unlikely that he can read at all.

While we are called to be simple-minded when it comes to our faith (Matthew 18:3), nevertheless we are called to be aware that behind every corner could lurk a threat to that faith (1 Peter 5:8). While some may suggest this makes for a bad combination of gullibility and paranoia, I prefer to think of it as being good stewards of our minds, or a kind of internal NSA/KGB of our own thoughts (2 Corinthians 10:5). As parents, we are called to be good stewards of our children's minds, even if it hurts them (Proverbs 19:18; Proverbs 23:13).

I find it easier to simply allow those books and movies I recognize. This isn't so hard since I stopped watching new movies and tv shows some 15 years ago, and haven't had time to read new books for at least a decade before that. This makes the inventory in my memory blessedly short and easy to recall when necessary. Any book or video that doesn't spark my memory is quickly and unceremoniously plopped into a black garbage back and whisked away to the trash cans.

Let's see, that leaves the Holy Bible, a few Bible Concordances, the Left Behind series, the 700 Club, and not much more. I don't take chances with my children's eternal well-being. When they whine and fuss over losing items they considered precious, say a birthday present or gift from a friend now long gone, I remind them in Heaven they'll not want for all the stupid trinkets they think are important now, how very un-Christ-like and spiritually ugly their selfishness is. Generally, after sound discipline, a week of significant additional chores sets their attitudes back in good order.
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Thank you sisters for your replies...

13 years ago my husband built his own school so that we may educate our children according to God's will. Unfortunately we couldn't build it any closer than 400 meters away from our home and church. We educate all of the children from our church at our small school. We are truly blessed!

For some reason Matthias has been blessed by Jesus with a gentle disposition, and try as my husband might he cannot beat him into hating non-True Christians as much as he should. Our other sons regularly march forward with the word of God upon their lips and hate in their hearts...

It is coming close to the time that some stoning may be in order if Matthias cannot obey his father.

I worry that he might find devious ways to hide books, if he has gone over to satan. Of course if that is the case, stoning is absolutely on the cards.

Praise Him who loves only the True Christians!

Well yes, the Good Lord does provide for a Spiritual Lumpectomy for the Biblically Lump-headed (Deuteronomy 21:18-21; 2 Chronicles 15:13). A stoning saves not only you, but your family, and your community as well (Matthew 7:6; 1 Corinthians 5:13). And it's not like children are hard to come by. You could probably make one with tools you already have around the house.

You know what they say, easy come, easy go.

You may be being a bit overprotective and controlling. Why would you not want your son to become an atheist, as they speak more truth than you ever have?
