          Besides what the Bible says about "Thou Shalt not kill" what's so shocking about it?

          Without the Bible, human behavior would consist of not stop murder, cross-dressing, and tattooing. (Just take a look at Europe). Since you don't support the Bible, I'm sure you'll find nothing shocking about that.
