    8 year old petitions divorce to 49 year old husband but is denied until global outcry

    Yes Americas closest Middle Eastern Allie, Saudi Arabia allows dirty old men to marry young prepubescent girls and often have more than one wife while doing nothing to stop such activities. One would think that the hard stance our own government has against child predators and child sexual abuse that they would sever all ties and friendships with the government that secretly supports and allows this, but greed, money and oil profits are all the reason our government turns a blind eye to these Middle East sheiks and their cultural customs and law thus allowing them to continue. Truly sad!

    We must not only pray for these severed ties but protest by reducing our driving and not using or accepting foreign oil!

      Never gave that any thought but maybe she wants a husband that is a little older and more mature than her current one.

        Where in the Bible does it give permission for this little harlot to break up her marriage? I wouldn't like to be married to a Mahommedan either, but that doesn't change the fact that marriage is a sacred institution granted to us by God, and we shouldn't just allow radical man-hating 8-year-old lesbian feminists to trample all over it.

          This young girl had everything a woman could want: a rich husband that would likely die before the marriage was consummated and leave her all of his money... not to mention all the early 90's pop cassettes one tweenage Muslim girl could listen to.

            Isn't there Biblical precedence for men leaving behind their foreign wives since they were idolaters? Can a woman do the same thing?

              What is society coming to when women think they can escape their wedding vows just because their husband is 6 times as old as they are? Heterosexural marriage is forever!! Uh, folks... it's a SOLEMN OATH BEFORE GOD... that means that no matter how hard the beatings, no matter how brutal the rapes, no matter how loud the screams at the burning sessions, no matter how their heads get mashed into the wall, no matter how much testimony is invalidated, no matter how oppressive the subjugation... IT'S A HOLY UNION IN THE EYES OF GOD!!!

                You know what else grinds my gears, brother? The liberals love to whine on about cases like this, but I have never seen a radical feminist queer argue for a 8-year-old Muslim boy's right to divorce a 49-year-old Muslim man. Once again, it's one rule for normal people with decent family values, and another rule for the sodomites.

                  Wow, she is a child. She should not have gotten married in the first place. Let alone to a 49 year old.

                  I'm willing to bet that God will forgive her for wanting a divorce.

                      Mrs. Tool (sorry, I can only assume that someone as dense as you has to be a woman),

                      I know that obviously God's timeless Laws mean nothing to you, but try to understand. A marriage is a Holy contract, one laid down by GOD as an institution for passing on His Righteous Word from one generation to the next. If we are allowed to willy-nilly "divorce" for no reason, then we are breaking this blessed union that GOD has put together. Remember,

                      Are you saying that this petulant bride should be willing to walk away from her husband just because she decided she wanted to switch?! I'm sorry, this isn't a game of Ken & Barbie here -- this is real life! She is entered into the sacred bonds of marriage, and presumably their marriage has been consummated. She may even be pregnant at this point, but I'm sure you want nothing more than for her to get a divorce.

                      The point is this: God laid down some very clear ground rules for divorce, the D-word: infidelity on the part of the wife. Unless her husband chooses to discard her like last week's Sunday paper, she has her marital duties to be a faithful, loving wife who bears him a whole Quiverful of children. And that just chaps your liberal hide, doesn't it.
