And just like everything else, the makers of such games couldn't give squat about the welfare of people (not just kids) who play their games. Only about the money they make selling them. Evil gets in everywhere Stormblade, Satan uses every chance he gets to take folks.

Without the games, there would still be kids who have strong emotional reactions to losing connections to things to which they are attached. Kids throw fits over being separated from cookies and candy all the time.
As for the companies, I can't speak for them. Some of them might care more for their buyers, others might see only in terms of dollars.

These are only two isolated cases of children losing their tempers over computer games. Many more children do not lose their tempers over such games, but they never make it onto the Internet, because those who lose their tempers are more entertaining to the Internet masses. The games themselves are not the problem; the individuals who cannot control their emotions are.
