Sorry to interrupt this peaceful thread, but what is going on here? I'm confused, is this site an actual Christian site or is it a mock?

If this were a mock, why would we be so careful to preach Christianity and the Holy Bible exactly as they are, so that people can see them for what they are? Wouldn't we distort them to make them somehow funny?

Do not believe I mentioned any of those things, and English along with many other languages is derived from Latin. Hope you Yanks down in the southern states of the usa can understand that. By the way, when did mocking a fellow man ever become okay in the Bible. Jesus preached understanding and compassion. Not childish name calling and ignorance.

And since you're not keen on reading the Bible, why not check out this great retelling of Matthew 15 and Mark 7, both of which tell the story of Jesus meeting a woman of an inferior race, insulting her, and making her grovel?

The woman begs. Even so, Jesus doesn’t really care what she has to say:

26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.

The dog-woman begs Jesus to help her!


So, the people of Canaan (or the Greeks, if you’re reading Mark) are “dogs”. That makes her a dog-woman! And it must be true, because Jesus Himself said so!


Does it sound to you as though Jesus is saying that she’s a human-animal hybrid, like at the top of the page? Or is “dogs” an ethnic slur?

What a thoughtful & wonderful person to buy you a gift, especially in this economy. You should feel blessed Felicity to have someone in your congregation that is so kind.
