Sorry to hear that. You seem to be interested in learning about God's Word, so I hope you'll stick with us.

Of course. We're always willing to help lost souls get in touch with God.

We only ban racists and other persons who are mocking us and mocking the Lord. We don't ban people because they disagree with us or don't know much about the Bible. We educate them.

Then truly you have heard the ministry of Christ:

...I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. Matthew 5:39

Of course, this does not mean that we Christians cannot use our handguns to defend ourselves from the Muslims and heathens and idolaters and muggers and rapists. Jesus also said:

...he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one. Luke 22:36

That doesn't sound like a Christian school to me at all. Here in Freehold, Iowa, we don't tolerate things like sex and drugs in our schools, except sex for the high school girls, since most of them are married.

The important thing is to stay away from schools that teach anti-Christian doctrines like sexual promiscuity, evolution, and the kinetic theory of gasses.

We would never pretend that we were God.
I was raised on the bible. I've read through the whole book many times as a child. The best way to describe my current religious status is that I've had a falling out with God over a personal matter that I don't want to mention at the time.

I find it odd how you and the poster before you had two almost completely opposite responses to the quip I made about child bombers. Which one is it?

As for my school... there's only so much you can do to watch your kids. Being in the school 9 years, I can promise you from personal experience that the kids in Iowa are probably similar. I don't mean it as an insult; simply, just, as an informative fact.

      Re: I have a question.

Another question. This time, it's geared more to a sort of dogmatic tradition I've seen ever increasingly voiced nearly unanimously across all religions.

Why do you treat homosexuals with such hostile? I mean, quite frankly, I don't see how you could expect anyone to do something if all you do is threaten them all day long. It seems to me that if you stopped protesting with signs like, 'Fags burn in hell,' and took some time out to meet these people and get to know them and befriend them, using it as a basis to invite them to church, that you'd get infinitely more people.

You might suggest that homosexuality is contagious though? My only thought about that is that you shouldn't be afraid of 'catching' it if you feel strong in your faith.

      Thoughts?

You might be interested in this sermon of mine.

I've met several homosexual people and they were all friendly, hard-working, tax-paying Americans. Personally, I don't have anything against them. If I hadn't read the Bible, I probably wouldn't have a clue that there was anything wrong with it. Homosexuality isn't for me, but who am I to decide how others should live their lives?

However, I HAVE read the Bible, and I know how God feels about homosexuality. For whatever reason, God HATES homosexuality. He calls it an abomination. I don't understand God's reasons, but I don't need to understand them. All I need to do is obey His commandments.

I don't treat homosexuals with hostility. If I hated homosexuals, I would keep my mouth shut, leave them alone, and let them be damned to Hell.

I want them to give up their sinful lifestyles and become saved. God forgives sin, but only if we repent and turn away from our sins. Sometimes we have to use harsh language to wake up folks who are complacent.

You're right. Pastor Billy-Reuben is a very level-headed man. He has given me quality advice many times since I came to Landover. I'm sure he's willing to help you too if you have any questions you'd like to ask him.

Friend, being emo is no reason to be mad at God. Read Brother Eliot's signature - God tortured Job and Job was cool with it, so why can't you take his attitude?

O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

If it was simply a matter as childish as being 'emo', then I wouldn't be here. It's rather insulting that you'd suggest that actually.

As for reading the Bible. I've read it through and through at least 6 times in the course of my life. No where in there does it say anything about picketing homosexuality and making homosexuals feel like the scum of the earth.

What doesn't make sense to me at all is this.

If, theoretically, I was an atheist, and trying to convert you, do you think that if I used harsh language that you'd feel more compelled to convert?

                    You wouldn't right?

Why do you think that works on homosexuals?

                      Re: I have a question.

While I do sincerely hope to continue this nice discussion homosexuals, I do however have yet another question.

While I recognize I'm not in the best place to do this, I want to challenge Jeb Tharmond's [sp?] credibility. There is no way at all he can verify that those children really do play a game of getting possessed at recess or that it centers around pokémon.

Comparing the behavior of a single child that plays pokémon with that of those who don't. Am I the only one that finds that lacking logic? I've noticed you guys get a lot of flames for being 'radicals'. I'm sure you guys don't like it when a group of people comes down on you for the 'one' radical guy in the group. I'm sure you'd disagree that you guys are radical as a whole, because just 'one' of you guys are.

Seeing as how I'm quite sure you do; isn't it a bit hypocritical to do the same thing with pokémon?

Lastly, the topic touches close to home for me. I grew up on the game as a child and while I don't currently play anymore, I still remain rather informed on the subject. You want to know what that game was to me? It was an escape from the reality of my father beating me. It was an escape from the reality of my mother not caring my father beat me senselessly just to take out his own rage the way you attack a punching bag.

I'm not quite sure whether I should take this as an insult or not.

I'm a cashier at Ralphs. While I occasionally find the time to play Halo, I'm most certainly not a 'gamer'. And I have my reasons for my religious stance at the moment.

I find it rather insulting that you'd reject God simply because of being emo.
As for reading the Bible. I've read it through and through at least 6 times in the course of my life. No where in there does it say anything about picketing homosexuality and making homosexuals feel like the scum of the earth.
In your repeated readings of the Bible, did you ever come across this verse?

Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

God says to kill fags. That's currently not legal, so we settle for the next best thing.

Stuff and nonsense. We use harsh language to describe disgusting atheist scum because we're consistently honest. And we're not soft on queers!

Logic is a secular conspiracy. And what do you think would be more "logical", anyway? Comparing the behaviour of a child who doesn't play pokemon with another child who doesn't play pokemon? You liberals are scrambled in the head.
I've noticed you guys get a lot of flames for being 'radicals'. I'm sure you guys don't like it when a group of people comes down on you for the 'one' radical guy in the group. I'm sure you'd disagree that you guys are radical as a whole, because just 'one' of you guys are.
Luke 6:22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.

John 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
John 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

The world hates us because we stand for Jesus. Jeb is a valued member of our Christian community, and I strongly resent your attempts to divide us and set brother against brother.
Seeing as how I'm quite sure you do; isn't it a bit hypocritical to do the same thing with pokémon?
                                I'm quite sure you're a demented God-mocker who's wrong about everything.
