A young couple got saved recently and joined my church. The wife stopped by my office last week, and I could tell that she was troubled. Her twelve-year-old daughter is into competitive dance and really enjoys it, but now that the mother is saved she feels like the Holy Spirit is telling her that it isn't right. She came by to ask me if I thought she should pull her daughter out of it.

I was completely unfamiliar with the whole competitive dance scene. I told her that I would look into it and let her know. She gave me the websites of some of the companies that run dance competitions. I refuse to post the names, links, or pictures here on a Christian forum, for reasons that will soon become obvious.

I clicked on those websites and viewed the pictures and videos. I was absolutely horrified by what I saw. Little girls, and the occasional fruity little boy, were painted up like whores and wearing almost nothing, dancing suggestively to rock, jazz, and jungle music. It was disgusting.

One Bible verse immediately popped into my mind.

Lev 19:29 Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.

What are these kids' parents thinking? The parents should be training up the daughters to be good help meets for their future husbands, not to work as pole dancers in strip clubs. These girls should be learning how to cook, sew, clean, and take care of babies, not how to shake their moneymakers in front of strangers.

What I want to know is where are the competitive homemaking competitions?

Those fruity little boys should be put into something manly so they don't turn out gay. They are all too skinny for football. As limber as they are, they would probably be great at wrestling.

Pastor, I'm sure some folks would say that dancing is great exercise, keeping a woman fit and strong. A fit woman can take better care of children and work more around the farm. And a gal who knows how to catch her man's eye from time to time can certainly help with the meet.

While dancing in public in tight clothes may not be the best way to get exercise, it seems preferable to, say, Lesbian Field Hockey.

Maybe others have ideas for Christian-appropriate activities for these youngsters, which will keep them fit and healthy for the rebuking of sinners and tending of livestock? Er, other than the obvious, rebuking sinners and tending livestock. (The girls growing up in the city need exercise, too!)

I think God has arranged things so that it all evens out. More livestock in the boondocks, more sinners in the city.

Thank you, Pastor Billy-Reuben, for shedding light on this disgusting practice. Competitive dance certainly is an evil that must be stamped out. It is a sure sign of wickedness:

Job 21:7-14 Any parent who would do this to a child hates that child, and also hates God.

In all honesty, though, I really don't blame the dance moms. Women are flighty by nature and too easily given over to the temptations of carnal sin, as evidenced by Eve's capitulation to the serpent in the Garden of Eden: Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. 1 Timothy 2:14 That is why the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. Ephesians 5:23-24.

So why aren't the husbands nipping this disgusting whoredom of their daughters and homofication of their sons in the bud?

Friends, we are not talking here about the storybook ballets and dance with moral messages of a generation ago. There is no more "Sleeping Beauty", "Swan Lake", or "Nutcracker" holiday dancing. We are talking about "Modern Dance" here, which was started by that harlot Isadora Duncan in the early 20th century. Isadora Duncan was known for her sexual assignations, bearing children out of wedlock, lesbean relationships, and living a life of wonton depravity.

Any kind of dance is just upright Fornication.

The closeness of the two sexes will most certainly lead to sexual activity.
The wanton abandon which characterizes dancing might lead to further sinfulness like drinking or staying out late.
A Girl willing to dance with a boy is simply the first step towards a life of even deeper sin.

Forcing Children to carry out this abomination is tantamount to Child Abuse or even Pedophilia.

What are they thinking indeed? It's not like there aren't competitions out there that DO improve their daughters' skills! Not that I approve the chocolate or the low-fat entries, mind.

Or, in this case, the cake. It's the sweepstakes baking competition at the Florida State Fair, a decades-old tradition open only to previous years' baking winners.
Cakes cluster over here, pies over there, cookies farther along, and the low-fat entries, a new category this year, huddle at the end. It's a small turnout this year, notes Lois Duffey. She has orchestrated the Family Living Competitions at the Florida Center for 15 years, relatively speaking a teeny fraction of the competitions' 100-year history.

Maybe they've all been scared off by the champ. Kelly Everhart's Chocolate Italian Cream Cake took best in show in 2007, and darned if the towering confection didn't do it again this year. But we're getting ahead of ourselves.

Stop putting your daughters into competitions that make them look like lusty harlots, showing their sweaty bouncy dirty pillows and have them make obscene movements with their pelvises and cooters looking like camel toes. Get them cooking!

Most of Landover's girls are perfectly content to attend their sewing workshops after home-schooling. But this "competitive dance" nonsense reminds me of that terrible incident in Colorado, where the mother paraded her precious little one -- JonBenet Ramsey -- on a stage, as if the child was a low-class, Democratic whore, and then the mother -- it's said -- killed the child, when she didn't win the right competitions. I think we'll see similar situations arise among these dance mothers. It's what happens when secularists abandon Biblical principles of child-rearing.

Amen Brother Lee. If not a gateway sin, "competitive dance" is certainly a leading cultural indicator of rampant deviant sexual behavior in our culture. Just take a look at the following outrageous stories amongst "cheerleaders".

The pictures posted on MySpace.com looked like the latest installment of "Girls Gone Wild." In them, cheerleaders from McKinney North High School in Texas exhibited all variety of bawdy behavior. One shot showed a bikini-clad girl sharing a bottle of booze with a friend. Another featured a cheerleader and several other girls in risqué poses offering glimpses of their panties. But the most infamous photo of all was taken in a Condoms To Go store. Five smiling cheerleaders dressed in uniform posed with large candles shaped like penises. At least one of them appeared to be simulating fellatio. "It would be an overstatement to describe any of the photographs as pornographic, but it would be an understatement to describe them as harmless high jinks," wrote Harold Jones, a lawyer hired by the school district to investigate the incident. "Quite frankly, I personally found it 'creepy'."

At least one Texas lawmaker is outraged enough at the sin and depravity going on in our taxpayer financed LIEbral SICKular schools to propose legislation to put a stop to it.

(AP) The Friday night lights in Texas could soon be without bumpin' and grindin' cheerleaders.

Legislation filed by state Rep. Al Edwards of Houston would put an end to "sexually suggestive" performances at high school athletic events and other extracurricular competitions.

"It's just too sexually oriented, you know, the way they're shaking their behinds and going on, breaking it down," said Edwards, a 26-year veteran of the Texas House.

"And then we say to them, 'don't get involved in sex unless it's marriage or love, it's dangerous out there,' and yet the teachers and directors are helping them go through those kind of gyrations."

Well, I certainly agree with Rep. Edwards, for the very reason that our own Sister JennyD said so well:

a gal who knows how to catch her man's eye from time to time can certainly help with the meet.

"Competitive dance," "beauty pagents," "cheerleading" .... Whatever you call it, the Lord knows the heart of man and how important it is to get a heart on for Jesus. A responsible mother ought to consider that, before placing her daughter in a compromising venue, where the only intent is to mock God. Rep. Edwards would agree with me.

I have wonderful news, friends. I explained everything to the woman, and she knew what I said was right. She canceled her daughter's dance classes and pulled her out of her competitions. Praise Jesus!

She said her daughter started yelling and screaming and wouldn't eat her dinner. I told her that's just the demons working their way out, and a series of good spankings every time she acts up will speed the process.

The dance instructor left a really nasty message on my voice mail. I won't repeat any of the four letter words (or the twelve-letter word) she used, but apparently she is upset that she's going to have to change all the dances that this girl was in.

Well, we started a prayer chain for this dance instructor. We're going to see if we can't get her saved, get her to see the error of her ways, and close her sin instruction center. I will be mailing her a new Chick tract every day, and someone from the women's Bible study group will be going by her studio every day to tell her and her students the Plan of Salvation.

Finally, I have an announcement. I looked at the websites for the various dance competition companies, and saw that they all have their national competitions in the summer. I know what Jesus wants us to do, and that is to be outside the venues for these places with big signs and bullhorns and do some good old-fashioned street ministry.

There are a lot of these national competitions -- each company has several all over the country -- so we won't be able to go to all of them. In what way am I not a Christian? The Holy Ghost convicted me of my sins, I repented of them, and I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior.

Jesus certainly taught love, but He did not teach so-called "tolerance" or "acceptance". Unrepentant sinners burn forever in Hell! How could it be loving to "tolerate" or "accept" someone's sinful lifestyle?

When your daughter dances, is she painted up like a harlot and dressed in practically nothing? How is your daughter going to land a good Christian gentleman as a husband if she is wasting her time dancing instead of learning how to keep a household. Why is your son prancing around in a pair of tights instead of doing something more manly, like football or hunting?

Come to think of it, do you have your husband's permission to be on the computer? Why aren't you ironing his shirts or baking him a pie?
