    Kirk Cameron on Biblical Parenting

True Christian™ parent and parenting mentor Kirk Cameron has done it again. He's provided a perfectly Biblical piece of advice for raising children: Don't explain, Simply Train:

God has not called parents to explain but to train. Explanations often lead to frustration and anger for both parents and children. Children are not in need of lengthy, compelling explanations. What they are in need of is the understanding that God must be obeyed.
Indeed God must be obeyed! Why, this is the sole duty of man, to fear and obey:

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments:
for this is the whole duty of man.
    Ecclesiastes 12:13

Explanations are more consistent with gaining approval and winning arguments. Neither of these are appropriate goals for biblical parenting and can lead to anger in your children as Ephesians warns against.
I often tell my children that I am their parent, not their friend. I will not treat them as a friend does, but I shall raise them to be obedient unto the LORD by teaching them obedience at home. If they do not treat their father as they would treat the Lord Jesus Christ, they are quickly and severely reprimanded. Some people may think this too harsh, but you never know when the LORD might take them. They could be hit by a bus, contract a deadly strain of the Mumps, or be taken out by a roving emo goth teenager in public. If they leave my house without recognizing the need for obedience without question, then I haven't done my job. And I always do my job. And as the LORD is my witness, I do it well.

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Re: Kirk Cameron on Biblical Parenting

It is uplifting to know that godless Hollywood has at least one Christian among those lost souls, upholding His Word.

Still, it is a dangerous path he treads, living among God's enemies, as he does.

God bless him and keep him.
God judgeth the righteous, And God is angry with the wicked every day- Psalm 7:11
